29 HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH PICTURE menu • While the PICTURE menu is d isplayed, pressing the blue button will set the CONTRAST, BRIGHT, SHARP, COLOUR, HUE settings to their default settings. PICTURE MODE You can choose one of three PICTURE MODEs to adjust the picture settings automatically.
30 PICTURE menu HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH FEATURES Choose FEATURES and press the a or 3 button to display the sub-menu. • COLOUR SYSTEM cannot be chosen when watching Digital terrestrial broadcasting in one screen.
PICTURE menu 31 HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH MIN: The level of DigiPure effect is set to the minimum. When you set the Super DigiPure function to AUTO and notice some noise, change the setting from AUTO to MIN. • The MIN setting is not suitable for high- quality pictures which contain very little noise.
32 PICTURE menu HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH AUTO: This function detect s a colour system from the input signal. You can only use this when you are viewing a picture from programme number PR 0 (AV), or an EXT terminal. • The AUTO function may not function properly if you have poor signal quality.
33 HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH SOUND menu • Functions in the “SOUND” menu other than “HEADPHONE VOLUME” work for the TV speakers. They do not work for the sound from the headphones. • When the headphones are connected and only one screen is displayed, only “HEADPHONE VOLUME” can be used.
34 HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH FEATURES menu • CHILD LOCK, APPEARANCE and BLUE BACK cannot be chosen when watching Digital terrestrial broadcasti ng (DVB-T). SLEEP TIMER You can set the TV to automatically turn off after a set period of time.

If you want to know a particular TV channel’s channel menu, look in TV listings magazine s or contact the broadcaster.
SET UP menu 41 HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH DECODER (EXT-2) If you have a decoder connected to a T-V LINK compatible VCR , which in turn is connected to the EXT-2 t erminal, use the DECODER (EXT-2) function to unscramble the scrambled TV c hannels.

DTV: The picture and sound of the Digital terrestrial broadc asting (DVB-T) TV channel you are currently viewing are output from the EXT-2 terminal.
45 HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH DTV menu • DTV in the menu bar can only be chosen when watching Digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T). Timers (DTV Timer Recording) By setting the timer, you can record a Digital terrestrial broadcasti ng (DVB-T) programme with a VCR connected to EXT-2 or EXT-3 while you are out.

Troubleshooting 57 HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH • Have the COLOUR and BRIGHT settings been adjusted properly? Follow the description “BRIGHT” and “COLOUR” on page 29 to tr y to adjust them properly. • Videotaping teletext is not recommended because it may not record correctly.
58 Troubleshooti ng HV-32/28D40BK / LCT1596-001A-U / ENGL ISH • The TV may make a crackling sound due to a sudden change in temperature. The picture or sound may be normal. If you hear crackling sounds frequently while you are viewing the TV, there may be other causes.
