The ON/ST ANDBY button in any position does not disconnect the mains line. The power can be rem ote controlled. CA UTION T o reduce the risk of electrical shocks, fire, etc.

8 During p lay , you can adjust the ba ss lev el between B ASS 1 (min imum) an d BASS 6 (maxim um). T urn the SUPER W OOFER V OLUME +/– contro l clockwise to increase th e bass le vel or turn it cou nterclockwise to dec rease the bass lev e l.
9 ■ ■ Listening to radio Y ou can listen to FM and AM (MW/L W) sta tions. Statio ns can be tu ned in ma nually , auto matically , or from preset me mory storage . ■ Before liste ning to th e radio, fully exte nd the FM telescopic an tenna. ■ 1.
10 Y ou can preset up to 30 FM stati ons and 15 AM (MW/L W) stations. Note: Preset number s may hav e been set to fa ctory te st frequencie s prior to ship ment.
11 ■ 1. Set a disc. ■ 2. Press CD 6 . The first track of the disc starts playing. For CDs: For MP3 d iscs: • When pl aying an MP3 disc, the file name (t hen ID 3 T ag if an y) is di splayed a t the be gin ning of each track. • If no d isc is inserted, “NO DIS C” appears on the di splay and the system remains in stop mode.

The indicator li ghts up and t he system starts recording. • If t he tab of the cas sette tape is removed to protect erasure or recordi ng, recording does not start. Tips: When you wa nt to re cord on b oth side s of the tape , star t recording from the forward directio n.
16 ■ ■ Listening to an aux iliar y equipment Y ou can listen to an auxil ia ry equip ment. • First make sure that the auxilia ry equipment is prop erly connect ed to the sy stem. (See page 5.) ■ 1. Se t t he v olu me l eve l to mi nimum . ■ 2.
17 ■ ■ Using the timer The time rs let you con trol the listen ing and rec ording funct ions automa tically . When the po wer is first supplied, the CLOCK indicator and “0:0 0” blin k on th e displa y . Se t the clock . Note: The clock must be correctly set for the tim ers to work.
18 Once the tim er has been set, it will be acti vated at t he same time e veryday until the t imer is turne d of f. Recording timer wor ks only one time.
