4 English RIGHT LEFT REAR SPEAKERS CENTER SPEAKER T urn the loop until y ou have the best r eception. Notes: • Make sure the antenna conductors do not touch an y other ter minals, connecting cords and power cord. This could cause poor reception. • If reception is poor , connect an outdoor single vinyl-cov ered wire to the AM EXT ter minal.
5 English Connecting the subwoofer speaker Y ou can enhance the bass by connecting a subwoofer . Connect the input jack of a powered subwoofer to the SUBWOOFER OUT jack on the rear panel, using a cable with RCA pin plugs.

7 English Putting Batteries in the Remote Control Before using the remote control, put two supplied batteries first. When using the remote control, aim the remote control directly at the remote sensor on the receiv er . 1. On the back of the remote contr ol, remo ve the battery cover as illustrated.
8 English T urning the Power On and Off (Standby) On the front panel: T o turn on the power , press ST ANDBY/ON . The ST ANDBY lamp goes of f. The name of the current source (or station frequency) appears on the display . T o turn off the po wer (into standby mode), press ST ANDBY/ON again.
9 English Adjusting the V olume On the front panel: T o increase the v olume, turn MASTER V OLUME clockwise (+). T o decr ease the volume, turn it counterclockwise (–). • When you turn MASTER V OLUME rapidly , the volume le vel also changes rapidly .
10 English Attenuating the Input Signal When the input le vel of the playing source is too high, the sounds will be distorted. If this happens, you need to attenuate the input signal lev el to prev ent the sound distortion. On the front panel ONL Y : Press INPUT A TT .
11 English Changing the Source Name When you hav e connected an MD recorder to the T APE/MD jacks on the rear panel: Change the source name sho wn on the display when you select the MD recorder as the source. On the front panel ONL Y : When changing the source name from “T APE” to “M D”: 1.

13 English Setting the AM T uner Interval Spacing Some countries space AM stations 9 kHz apart, and other countries use 10 kHz spacing. When shipped, the spacing is set to 9 kHz. 14 English Selecting the FM Reception Mode When an FM stereo br oadcast is har d to receive or noisy Y ou can change the FM reception mode while receiving an FM broadcast. On the front panel ONL Y : 1. Press FM. The last station of the selected band is tuned in.
