5 Connecting speakers to the FRONT SPEAKERS 1 terminals For each speaker , connect the (+) and ( – ) terminals on the rear panel to the (+) and ( – ) terminals marked on the speak ers. 1 Cut, twist and remo ve the insulation at the end of each speaker signal cable (not supplied).

11 Adjusting the V olume On the front panel: T o increase the volume, turn MASTER V OLUME clockwise. T o decrease the v olume, turn it counterclockwise. From the remote control: T o increase the volume, press V OLUME +. T o decrease the v olume, press VOLUME – .

13 Basic adjustment auto memory This receiv er memorizes sound settings for each source when — : • you turn of f the power , • you change the source, and • you assign the source name. When you change the source, the memorized settings for the newly selected sour ce are automatically recalled.

15 Selecting the Analog or Digital Input Mode When you hav e connected digital source components using both the analog connections (see page 6) and the digital connections (see page 9) methods, you need to select the input mode correctly . Befor e you start, r emember .
16 Selecting the V ideo Input T er minal This receiv er is equipped with the component video input terminals for the D VD player and DBS tuner , which gi ve you higher picture quality . When you use the component video input terminals for the D VD player and/or DBS tuner , change the video input terminal setting.
17 Speaker size Register the sizes of all the connected speak ers. • When you change your speakers, reg ister the information about the speakers again. 1 Press SETTING r epeatedly until “ FRNT SP (Fr ont Speaker), ” “ CNTR SP (Center Speaker) ” or “ REAR SP (Rear Speaker) ” (with the curr ent setting)* appears on the display .
