7 Quick Start Please note, t he follo w i ng instructions are i ntended to give you a brief overvie w , allowing you to use the player right a way . F or detailed instructions please refer to the rest of this manual. 1. Remove the back cover and insert the included AAA battery .
8 Operational Notes 1. Please remove the battery if yo u do not plan to use the MP3 playe r for extended period s of time. 2. T he MP3 play er should be kept in areas free from extreme temperature changes, moisture, and dust. 3. T he M P3 player ca n not be turned on if the HOLD switch is in the ON position.

1 1 Turnin g the pow er on/ off T o turn on the MP3 player , press and hold the PLA Y button for 2 seconds. “Pow er O n” w ill be display ed on the LCD screen. T o turn of f the MP3 play er , press and hold the PLA Y button for 2 seconds. “Pow er O f f” wi ll be displayed on the LCD screen.
12 Playing MP3 music 1. T urning on t he po w er by pressing Play / S top button momenta r ily , you could see the follow ing interface: The 001-022 means there are 22 songs loaded on this p art icula r MP3 play er , and it’ s currently on song 1. 2.
13 Volume Co ntrol The volume steps (see illustration) wil l increase or decrease w hen the VOL+/VO L- button is pressed correspondin gly. There are 32 volume steps and the volume level ranges from 0 to 31. Menu Mo de 1. T o enter t he Menu mode, press dow n on the Mode button (in the middle of the rolling w heel).
14 2. T o select an option , use the FF/RW w heel to scroll to the desired option. T hen press dow n on t he Mode button to enter that selection. Each screen h as a Retur n opt ion as t he last item, which can be use d to return to the previous screen.
15 Settings: E Q (Equalizer) There are 5 Equalizer modes to select fr om: Jazz, Classic, Rock, Pop, and Normal. 1. Enter the Mo de Menu and select the Settin gs option. 2. Select the EQ (Equali z er) option. 3. Scroll to the desired EQ sett ing (Jazz, C lassic, Rock, Pop, or Normal) and press dow n on the Mode button to select that setting.
16 2. Select the REPEA T option. 3. Scroll to the desired REPEAT setting (Normal, Preview , Repea t Track, Repeat All, or Shuffle) and press dow n on the Mode button to select that setting.
17 Settings: L CD contrast You can adjust the contrast of the LCD scr een to w ork best in your surrounding environ m ent. 1. Enter the Mo de Menu and enter the Settin gs option. 2. Select the LCD Co ntrast option. 3. Scroll to the desired REPEAT setting.

21 MP3 Management So ftw are The Kanguru Micro MP3 PRO drive includes a MP3 Management utilit y to help yo u transfer audio files to the play er. T o install this program, simply double cli c k on t he set up.exe f ile l ocated in the Dri vers folder for this product.
