3 Chapter 1 Finding a Loca tion for the Printer Dock m Allow 5 inches (12. 7 cm) clearance on all sides of the printer dock. m Place the pri nter dock on a fl at, clean, dust- free surface, out of di rect sunlight. m Make sure airflow aro und th e top and back is not blo cked.
4 Chapter 1 Installing the Camera Insert The printer dock comes with a universal camera insert inst alled, wh ich is used to fit the camera to the printe r dock. The un iversal insert is used with most cameras. If your camera comes with a custom insert, use that one instead of the universal insert.
5 Chapter 1 Connecting the Power CAUTION: Use only th e AC adapter and power cord include d with the printer doc k. Other adapters and co rds can damage you r came ra, prin ter dock, or comp uter . IMPORT ANT: Remove your camera fr om the print er dock when you are connecting power .
6 Chapter 1 Loading the Color Cartridge The color cartridge provid es the dyes and a prot ective laminat e coating for making your photos. A sample Kodak color cartr idge & photo pape r kit (10Pk) are include d with the printer dock .
7 Chapter 1 Loading the Paper IMPORTANT : T o avo id getting fingerprints on the paper , handle the pap er by the edges or by the perf orated tabs. 1 Remove the protect ive cap from the paper tray . Do not disc ard. 2 Lift the paper tray cove r . CAUTION: Use the up per limit line in side the paper t ray as a guide to avoid overloadi ng the paper .
8 Chapter 1 Inserting the Paper T ray 1 Open the paper tr ay door . 2 Slid e the pape r tra y in until th e tray locks into place. 3 Replace the prot ective cap on the front of the paper tray to catch the c omple ted pr ints. Handling an d Storing th e Paper m Do not touch the glossy side of the paper .
9 Chapter 1 Indicator Lights and Bu ttons The lights and buttons on the printe r dock indic ate the status of the printer dock and the camera, as well as printing opt ions based on the configurat ion of your camera. For T roubleshoot ing information, see Printer Dock Stat us Lights, page 47 .

12 Chapter 2 Setting Picture Quality Y our pri nter dock uses Best (3:2) aspe ct ratio for printing p ictures. T o take advantage of the aspect ratio and make sure your pi ctures are not cropped when printe d, set your camera ’ s Picture Quality as follows.

15 3 P rinting W ithout a Computer Printing from Your Camera 1 Make sure the AC power cord is connected and t he color cartridge and paper are loaded (see Chapter 1, Getting Started wi th Y our Prin ter Dock ). 2 T ake a pi cture with you r camera. 3 Place the camera in the printer dock (see Chapter 2, Get ting Starte d with Yo u r C a m e r a ).
16 Chapter 3 5 Press the Print bu tton. The copy screen appea rs on your camera when current mode is highl ighted on your pri nter doc k . Use the a rrow keys on the printer dock to select the number of copies to print, then press the Prin t button agai n.
17 Chapter 3 Canceling Printing m Press and hold the Print butto n for 2 seconds. The print job is immediately canceled and ejected into the paper tray. If yo u cancel a prin t during the fourt h pass (clear co at), the print is ejected upon completion.

19 4 Reviewing P ictur es and Videos T o review pictures a nd vide os stored on your ca mera: 1 Make sure the power is connect ed to the printer dock (see Connecting th e Power , page 5 ). 2 Place the Kodak EasyShare camera in the printer dock (see Docking and Charging the Camera, page 13 ).

34 Cha pte r 6 Clea ning th e Print H ead Clean the print head when lines, streaks, or scratch es appear on t he prints. The head cleaning tool can be used several times, but should be replaced when the cleaning pad appears soiled or is no l onger effective.
35 Cha pte r 6 Clea ring a Pa per Jam m If a paper jam occurs, t he Paper light flashes red.(see Indicat or Lights and Button s, page 9 ). CAUTION: Do not use force when remo ving t he p aper j am. 1 Remove the p aper tray . 2 Disconnect the power cord, wait 5 seconds, then pl ug it back in.

40 Chapter 7 Print is scratche d along the length of the prin t. The print h ead may need clean ing. Clean the print head ( page 34 ). The pa per may be dusty or dirty. Remove dirty paper. Print is bl ank or light The color cartridge is improperly installed.
41 Chapter 7 Print is dark . The cap tured image is too dark. Try re-taking the picture under better li ghting condi tions or cha nge the exposure compensation i n your camera. Edit the pictu re using the computer and Kodak EasyShare sof tware. High print head temperature.
42 Chapter 7 Noth ing ha ppens when yo u try to print. The AC power co rd is not securely connected. Check the conne ctions ( page 5 ) and try again. The paper tray is improperly installed. Remove the paper tray, check that paper is properly lo aded, and re- install ( page 7 ).
43 Chapter 7 ...from th e computer. The USB cable is not securely connecte d. Check the conne ctions ( page 2 6 ) and try again. The print job is paused or he ld in the p rint queue. Access the printer me nu for you r system. Make sure no check mark appears next to the Pause Printin g opt ion.

45 Chapter 7 Printi ng is slow. High p rint head temperature. Make sur e the printer dock is not placed i n direct sun light or is not operating in a high-temperature environment.
