4 ABOUT WWVB The NIST (National Institute of Stand ards and Technology— Time and Freq uency Div ision) radio station, WWVB, is located in Ft. Collins, Colorado and transmits the exact time signal contin uously throughou t the United States at 60 kH z.
5 SET-UP GUIDE 1. Have the weat her station a nd remote senso r 3 to 5 feet apart. 2. Batteries out of both units for at least 10 mi nutes. 3. Place the batteries into the rem ote sensor FIRST then place batteries into the weat her station NEXT. (All remote sensors must be started before the weather stat ion) 4.
6 I. PROGRAM MODE Programming Note: If 20 seconds is al lowed to pass during programming modes the unit will confirm/set th e last informatio n entered, the display will stop flash ing and return to normal time- date readings.
7 Manually This is only necessary if you do not wish to wait for the WWVB reception. All manu al set time and date settings will be over-ridden by the reception of th e WWVB signal.
8 B. 12 OR 24 HOUR TIME SETTING 1. “12h” will be flashing in the time LCD. 2. Press and release the “C H/+” button to toggle between 12h (AM/PM) and 24 h (military time). Note: in 12h mode “PM” will appear to the left of the time during the PM hours.
9 D. TIME ZONE SETTING 1. –5 should be flashing in the time LCD 2. Select your appropriate tim e zone by pressi ng and releasing the “CH/+” button . The time LCD displays the 3 letter abbreviations for the time zones found in North America along the very top of the display.
10 2. Press and release the “C H/+” button to select the appropriate setting. 3. Press the “MODE/SET” button to confirm and advance to the year setting. F. SETTING THE YEAR 1. “2000” shoul d be flashing in the tim e LCD. 2. Press and release the “C H/+” button to advance to the desired year.
11 H. SELECTING ° F OR ° C 1. ° F should be flashing in the time LCD. 2. Press and release the “C H/+” button to select between ° F an d ° C. 3. Press and release the “M ODE/SET” button to confirm and advance to the weather forecast sensitivity setting.
12 J. DISPLAYING RELATIVE hPa/inHg OR ABSOLUTE hPa/inHg Note: Air pressure on this unit can be displa yed in four diff erent measures: Relative hPa, Absolute hPa, Relativ e inHg , and Absolute inH g. The Absolute settin g gives a true and real-time air pressure readi ng (at the use rs location) that c annot be m anually calibrated.
13 K. MANUALLY SETTING TH E RELATIVE AIR PRESSURE 1. The numerals in the pressure LCD will now be flashing (only for relative air pressure) 2. Press and release the “C H/+” to increase the relative air pressure. Refer to your loca l weather service for an appr opriate settin g.
14 II. FEATURES OF THE WS-7059SU A. WEATHER FOREC AST The weather forecast feat ure is estimated to be 75% accurate. By adjusting th e sensitivity setting you can achieve a better accuracy of forecast. The weather forecast is based solely upon the c hange of air pressure over time.

17 1. Viewing t he Minim um Indoor Tem perature and Humidity a. Press and release the “MIN/M AX/RESET” button. b. The minim um temperature and humi dity is now displayed in the indoor LCD and the time and date of those values is displayed in the time LCD.
18 III. OUTDOOR REMOTE CO NTROL SENSORS TX4U included (others are optional) The WS-7059SU is able to receive signals from 3 different rem ote sensors. Wh en the TX4U and /or other units are set up the indoor LCD will display the remote sensors when the “IN /OUT” button is pressed.
19 3. To vi ew t he mi ni mum a nd ma xi mum t emp er atu re select which remote sensor to read data from and then press and release the “MIN/MAX/RESET” button. 4. Pressing this button once will display the minimum temperature, minimum hum idity and t he date and time the data was recorded.
20 B. The TX4U Remote Sensor 1. Mounting with screws a. Remove the mounting brac ket/ receptor from the packaging. b. Place the mounting bracket over the desired mounting surface. Thro ugh the 2 scre w holes of the bracket, mark the mounting surface with a pencil.
21 II. TROUBLESHOOTING Problem: No recep tion of WWVB time sign al Solution: 1) Wait ov ernight for signal. 2) Be sure Weather Station is at least 6 feet from any electrical devices, such as televisions, computers, or ot he r radio-con t rol l e d cl ock s .
22 III. MAINTENANCE AN D CARE INSTRUCTION S • Extreme tem peratures, vibrat ion, and shoc k should be avoided to p revent dama ge to the units. • Clean displays and units with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scou ring ag ents; they may mark the displays and casings.
