1 Introduction The APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is de signed to prev ent blackouts, brownou ts, sags, and surges from reaching y our eq uipment. The uninterruptible powe r supply (UPS) filters small util- ity line fluct uations and i solates yo ur equipm ent from l arge disturbances by inter nally disconnect ing from the utility line.
2 Connect Equipment and Power to the UPS 1. Connect equipment to the UPS. Note: A laser printer draws significantly mo re power than other types of equipment and may overload the UPS. 2. Add accessories to the Sm art-Slot (optional). 3. Connect ground leads to the TVSS scre w (opt ional).
3 2: O PERA TION Front Display Panel I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTION Online The UPS is supplying utility power to the conn ected equipment. AVR Trim The UPS is compensating for a h igh utility vol tage. AVR Boost The UPS is compensating for a low utility voltag e.
4 F EATURE F UNCTION Self-Test Automatic: The UPS perform s a self-test autom atically when turn ed on, and every two weeks ther eafter (b y default). During the self-tes t, the UPS briefly operates the conn ected equipmen t on battery. Manual: Press and hold the button for a few seconds to initiate the self- test.

7 4: S TOR AG E , M AINTENANCE , AN D S HIPPING Storage Store the UPS covered in a cool, dr y loca tion, with th e battery fu lly charged . At -15 to +30 ° C (+5 to +86 ° F), charge the UPS batt ery ever y six months. At +30 to +45 ° C (+86 to +113 ° F), charge the UPS battery every three months.

9 P ROBLEM AND / OR P OSSIBLE C AUS E S OLUTION THE OVERLOAD LED IS ILLU MINATED AND THE UPS EMITS A SUSTAINED ALAR M TONE The UPS is over loaded. The connected equipment is dr aw- ing more VA than the UPS can sustain. The connected equipmen t exceeds the specif ie d “maximum load.
10 P ROBLEM AND / OR P OSSIBLE C AUS E S OLUTION BATTERY CHARGE AND LOA D LED BARGRAPHS FLASH SI MULTANEOUSLY The UPS has shutdown. The internal temperat ure of the UPS has exceeded th e allow- able threshold for safe opera- tion. Check that the r oom temperature is with in th e specified limits for operat ion.
11 6: R EGULA TOR Y AND W ARRANTY I NFORMA TION 100V/120V models This equipment has been tested and fou nd to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pur- suant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
12 Limited Warranty American Power Conversion (APC) warrants its p roducts to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchas e. It s obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at its own sole option, any such defective products.
