1 Introduction The APC Un interrupti ble Power Supply (UPS) is des igned to prev ent blackou ts, brownouts, s ags, and surges from reaching your equipment.
2 2: S TA R T U P Connect the B attery " # Connect black w ire to battery. (Red wire is already conn ected.) Note: Small spark s at the point of battery connection are normal. $ % Connect Equipment to the UPS Rear Panels 110/120 V: 230 V: & 230 V models: The top off-w hite outl et pro- vides su rge protection only.
3 Connect the UP S to the Network (if Appl icable) Network Connectors Serial Port Telephone/Network Surge Suppression Ports Use only inter face kits approved by APC. Use only the su pplied cable to connect to the Serial Port. A stan dard serial interface cable is incom- patible with the UPS.

On Battery The UPS is supplying batt ery power to the co nnected equ ipment. Overload The conn ected loads are d rawing more than th e UPS power rating.

7 5: S T OR A GE AND M AI N T E N A N C E Storage Store the UPS covered in a cool, dry location, with the battery fully charged. At -15 t o +30 ° C (+5 to +86 ° F), charge th e UP S battery ever y six months. At +30 t o +45 ° C (+86 to +11 3 ° F), charge the UPS battery every three months .

9 P ROBLEM AND / OR P OSSIBLE C AUSE S OLUTION THE OVE RLOAD LED IS ILLUMINATED AND T HE UPS EMITS A SUSTAINED AL ARM TONE The UPS is overloaded. The conn ected equipment i s draw- ing more V A than the UPS can sustain. The conn ected equip ment exceeds th e specified “maxi mum load.
10 Shipping and Service Prepare the UPS for shipping : Sh ut down an d dis co nn ect any equ ipm en t a tta che d to the UPS. Shut down the UPS, and discon nect the UPS from the utility po w er outlet. Disconnect t he battery. If the UPS requires service do not return it to the dealer.

12 Limited Warranty Amer ican Power C onversion (APC) warr ants its prod ucts to be f ree f rom def ects in ma terials and workm anship for a period of tw o years fr o m the date of purchase . Its obligation u nder this w arranty is lim ited to repairing or replac ing, at its ow n sole option, a ny suc h defectiv e products.
