13 Y our Phone Backlight A backlight illuminates the display and the keypad. When you press any key , the backlight turns on. It turns off if no key is pressed within a giv en period of time, depending on the Backlight T imer menu option. Acc ess Codes Y ou can use the access codes described in this section to avoid unauthorized use of your phone. The access codes can be changed by using the Change C o des fe ature (Menu 9.5.4). S ecurity code (4 digits) T he security code pr otects the unauthorized use of your phone .
Y our phone offers a set of functions that allow y ou to customize the phone. These functions are arranged in menus and sub-menus, acc essed via the two soft keys marked the left soft key and the right soft key . Each menu and sub-menu allows you t o view and alter the settings of a particular function.

25 Y our phone provides a number of con trol functions that you can use during a call. To access these functions during a call, press the right soft key [ Options ]. Speaker On. The speakerphone indicator [] will display on the display screen. T he loudspeaker is aut omatically deactivated when you end the call . n W arning Because of the higher volume level, don ’t place the phone too close your ear while the speakerphone is enabled.
