3 Welcome to USB Dri v e. This user g uide is de signed to help y ou to use USB Drive correctly and saf ely. Please read this inform ation carefully bef ore using USB Drive. Please pay special attention to the sections that describe USB Drive operation for the Operating System bein g u s ed b y your computer.
4 Caution - Do not disc onnect the U SB Drive from the computer’s USB port while transferring (r eading or writi ng) data. Thi s will probabl y re sult in your data being corru pted - Make sure that you follow the instru ct ions gi ven in this guide when using or removing the product.
5 USB Drive™ is a removable, portable, flash memory based dat a st orag e device that works via your com put e r’s Un iver sal Se ria l Bu s (USB) interface. USB Drive does not require a battery or an y ex tern al pow er bec ause the U SB Driv e uses the power supplied by the computer or USB device it is plugged into.
6 1. Start Window s ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. 2. Remove th e cover from you r USB Drive and plug it into a USB port on your computer. If it is the first time to use USB Driv e, Windows will automa tically recognize it and install all required drivers.
7 3. Select to remove hard ware. 4. When your compute r indicates it is accepta ble to remove hardware, then unplug the USB Drive from the USB po rt. For Microsoft W indows 98/ 98SE, you ne ed to install new dri v ers for the USB Drive to operate. If you do not hav e the driver inst allation CD-ROM, you can d ownload it f rom www.
8 5 . You m us t rest art your computer . 6 . Aft er taking of f the cap of the USB Drive and inser t it to USB por t of your PC, then i t is recognized by th e PC as a Removable Disk automat i cal l y. 7. Click Uninstall button w he n you want t o del et e the Windows98 Devic e D ri v er .
9 Removing U S B Drive in Microsoft Windows 98/98SE 1. Close all files cu rrent ly opened f rom USB Drive. 2. Unplug USB Drive from t he USB port. Caution : Nev er rem ov e or unplu g USB Drive while the Red status LED is flashing. Caution : W hen Window98 Device Driver is remo ved, Secure cell Ut ility will be also remove d.
10 1. Start MacOS. 2. Remove th e cover from you r USB Driv e and plug it into an USB port of your MAC. If it is the first time to use USB Driv e, MAC will automatically recognize it. 3. USB Drive is recognized as an [untitled] folder in MA C. Removing USB Drive 1.
11 Through SecureCell Utility , you can make US B Drive security -enabled, bootable disk-enabled. Security feature is currently com patible with only Windows XP/ 2000/ME/98SE/98. 1 . Plug USB Dri ve directly into you r computer’s USB port . 2 . After your USB Drive is recognized, insert the CD-ROM included with your purchase.

21 Q. Can I set a password for the f iles t o be save d in USB Drive? A . Every word processing program supports a password f unction for the f il e to prevent any unauthorized access t o th e documents. Once you set a password, other peopl e cannot open the file.
