Set the screen brightness: m Choose Settings > Brightness, and then use the Click Wheel t o adjust the brightness. Y ou can also adjust the brightness during a slideshow or video.

Chapter 1 iP od classic Basics 11 If you see the main menu or a large battery icon, you can disconnect iP od classic. If you set iP od classic to manage songs manually or enable iP od classic for disk use , you must always eject iP od classic before disconnecting it.

F or best results , the rst time you use iP od classic, let it charge f or about four hours or until the batt er y icon in the status area of the display sho ws that the battery is fully charged.

2 14 Y ou use iT unes on your comput er to set up iP od classic to pla y your music, video , and other media con tent. Y ou use iPod classic by importing songs, a udiobooks, movies , T V shows, music videos , and podcasts into your c omputer and then syncing them with iP od classic.
Chapter 2 Setting Up iP od classic 15 Setting up your iT unes library T o listen to music on iP od classic, you rst need to get tha t music into iT unes on your c omputer . There are thr ee ways of getting music and other a udio into iT unes: m Purchase music , audiobooks , and videos, or download podcasts online from the iT unes Store.

Chapter 2 Setting Up iP od classic 17 Genius Mixes are preselected compilations of songs that go gr eat together . T hey ’r e created for you by iT unes using songs from your library . Each Genius M ix is designed to pro vide a di erent listening experience each time you pla y it.
