Page 6 1. TURN ON THE TV AND YOUR DVD PLAYER • Press the P OWER button on the player to turn on the power to the player. The player will start searching for a dis c. NOTE: You cannot turn the power on using the remote if th e power is off. You can only turn the player on and o ff using the re mote when the player is in Standby mode.
Page 7 c. Press the ENTER or PLAY button to enter a menu you have selected or start an actio n you have selecte d. d. D uring DVD disc playbac k, press the MENU button to re turn to Roo t menu. As for SVCD or VCD2.0 discs (with PBC function turned on), press PBC bu tton to return to the menu.
Page 8 • The programmed playback menu for SVCD/VCD/CD discs looks like the screen image to the right. Note that only the track number needs to be entered for the entry to be v alid. - If PBC function is on, this operation will t urn PBC function off while the chapters/tracks are played back in a programmed order .
Page 9 • Press PREV to beg inning of the previous title/chapter/track on a disc . 6. MULTI-SPE ED PLAYBAC K • Press FWD key repeatedly to toggle between fast forward 2x , 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x and 1x regular speed playback. Alternatively, pres s the PL AY button to return to regu lar playback speed.

Page 12 10. USING THE SEARCH FEATURE • You can use the Search fea ture to select a ti tle/track/chapter number or go to a specific point in a title. To use this feature, pres s the GOTO button on the re mote control to bring up the search menu and enter the informa tion edit status.

Page 16 2) SETUP OPTI ONS INFORMATION A) GENERAL SETUP The GENERAL SETUP options are illu strated below: z TV DISPLAY Normal / PS (Pan & Scan) : Choose this setting if your DVD player is connected to a normal aspect ratio TV (4:3). A standard edition m ovie (4:3) will fill the entire screen of your TV.
Page 17 z CAPTI ONS Select CAPTIONS as ON will display captions if the moive disc has been r ecorded with captions. Choose OFF to deac tivate the c aptions show n. z SCREEN SAVER If the screen saver is on, when you DVD player is in STOP, OPEN or NO DISC state, or there is a frame frozen for more than 60 se conds, the screen saver will be displayed.
Page 18 z SPDIF OUTPUT SPDIF/OFF : Choos e this setting if your DVD player is connected to onl y audio signals from ana log audio output jacks. For the coaxial output jack, there will be no signal. SPDIF/RAW : Choo se this setting if your DVD player is connected to a po wer amplifier w ith a coaxial cable.
Page 19 D) VIDE O SE T UP The VIDEO SETUP options are illust rated below: z COMP ONE NT CVBS : Choose this setting when your DVD player is connected to your TV via the normal RCA or S-Video output . YUV : Choose this setting when your DVD player is connected to your TV via the COMPONENT output - YUV.
Page 20 z SHARPNESS You could adjust the SHARPNESS of the picture with t he range of HIGH , MEDIUM and LOW . z BRIGHTNESS You could adjust the BRIGHTN ESS of the picture from -20 to +20 . Select a lower number for a darker pic ture. Select a higher number for a brighter picture.

Press ENTER to confirm. If the dis c you are playing has that language avail able, it will display menu content in th at language.
