5 9. Before using the tool on an actual w ork- piece, let it run for a while. W atch f or vibration or wobb ling that could indicate improperl y installed bit. 10. Be careful of the bit rotating direction and the feed direction. 11 . Do not leave the tool running.
6 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is s witched off and unplugged bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. Adjusting bit protrusion T o adjust the bit protrusion, loosen the lev er and mov e the tool base up or down as desired b y tur ning the adjusting roller .
7 Switch action CA UTION: • Bef ore plugging in the tool, always be sure that the tool is s witched off. T o star t the tool, mov e the switch le v er to the I (ON) position. T o stop the tool, mov e the switch le v er to the O (OFF) posi- tion. The tool equipped with electronic function is easy to operate because of the f ollowing features .
8 Installing or remo ving trimmer bit CA UTION: • Do not tighten the collet nut without inser ting a bit, or the collet cone will break. • Use only the wrenches provided with the tool. Inser t the bit all the wa y into the collet cone and tighten the collet nut securely with the two wrenches .
9 NO TE: • Moving the tool f orward too f ast may cause a poor quality of cut, or damage to the bit or motor . Moving the tool f orward too slowly ma y burn and mar the cut. The proper f eed rate will depend on the bit size, the kind of workpiece and depth of cut.
10 Remov e the tool base from the tool. Loosen the wing bolts and secure the tool base horizontally . Loosen the two screws on the tool base. Place the templet guide on the tool base. There are f our con- v e x por tions on the templet guide. Secure two of the f our conv e x por tions using the two scre ws.
11 Attach the guide plate to the straight guide with the bolt, the wa ve w asher , the flat washer and the wing n ut. Loosen the wing bolts and secure the tool base horizontally . Attach the straight guide with the clamp scre w (A). Loosen the wing nut on the straight guide and adjust the distance between the bit and the straight guide .
12 Circular w ork Circular work ma y be accomplished if you assemb le the straight guide and guide plate as sho wn in the figure. Min. and max. radius of circles to be cut (distance between the center of circle and the center of bit) are as f ollows: Min.
13 Align the center hole in the straight guide with the center of the circle to be cut. Drive a nail less than 6 mm (1/4 ” ) in diameter into the center hole to secure the straight guide .
14 MAINTENANCE CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is s witched off and unplugged bef ore attempting to perform inspection or maintenance. Replacing carbon brushes Remov e and check the carbon brushes regularl y . Replace when they w ear down to the limit mark.
