Cautions On Batteries • Use “ AA ” (R6P) batteries in this remote control unit. • Replace the batteries with new ones appro ximately once a year , though this depends on the frequency with which the remote control unit is used.

– 15 – EN English Getting started • T urn on the power of the TV , amplifier and any other components which are connected to the D VD player . • Make sure the TV and audio receiver (commercially av ailable) are set to the correct channel. Press the PO WER button.
– 16 – EN Fast Forwar d / Rever se Search During playbac k, press the FWD g or REV h button repeatedly to select the required f orward or re verse speed. • For D VDs, Fast Forward or Re verse Search speed is different depending on the disc.The appro ximate speed is 1 (x2), 2(x8), 3 (x20), 4 (x50) and 5 (x100).
– 17 – EN English Use the Cursor b uttons ( L / K / B / s ) to mov e the zoomed picture across the screen. T o exit Zoom mode, press the ZOOM b utton. NO TES: • Zooming function does not work while disc menu is shown. • x4 zoom is not a vailable on some discs .
– 18 – EN In stop mode, press the MODE button. • The PROGRAM screen will appear . Press the Cursor b uttons ( ▲ or ▼ ) to select a trac k, then press the ENTER b utton. • Press the CLEAR button to erase the most recently entered track. Press the PLA Y button to start programmed play- back.
– 19 – EN English In stop mode, press the RANDOM button. • The RANDOM screen will appear . Press the PLA Y button to start Random Pla yback. NO TES: • If you wish to repeat the current trac k in the random selection, press the REPEA T button repeatedly until TRA CK appears during playback.
– 20 – EN Notes on WMA: • The D VD player can reproduce data recorded as ISO 9660 lev el 2 with 31 characters file name included punctuation marks. The name of a file can be displayed in up to 25 characters. • Maximum of 8 subf olders can be recognised.
– 21 – EN English PLA YING A DISC • Use the software recognised b y DivX ® , Inc. when you make DivX ® files . • When using tools or utilities to make up DivX ® files, read their instruction manual beforehand. • A DivX ® file whose file size e xceeds 2GB cannot be play ed back.
Press the DISPLA Y b utton during playbac k. • The name of the file currently play ed will be display ed. Press the DISPLA Y b utton again. • Title name based on tag infor- mation currently play ed will be display ed. Press the DISPLA Y b utton again.
– 23 – EN English PLA YING A DISC • If the disc has no audio language, ‘ NOT A V AILABLE ’ will be display ed. • For D VD-RW (VR mode), pressing the A UDIO button cycles the sound mode through MAIN, SUB and MAIN + SUB.
Display Setting Y ou can change cer tain aspects of the D VD display screens, and various displa y mode settings. Press the SETUP button in stop mode. Press the Cursor buttons ( s or B ) to select CUST OM, then press the ENTER button. • The CUST OM mode will appear .
DOLBY DIGIT AL (Default : BITSTREAM) • Set to BITSTREAM when the play er is connected to a Dolby Digital decoder . • This function is effectiv e only f or the COAXIAL and OPTICAL con- nections. BITSTREAM : Output by Dolb y Digital. PCM : Conv er t Dolby Digital to PCM.
SLIDE SHO W (Default : 5sec) • This adjusts the pla yback speed of the JPEG SLIDE SHOW . • Press the Cursor buttons ( K or L ) to select between 5 sec and 10 sec, then press the ENTER button. DivX(R) V OD • This play er allows y ou to use the DivX ® Video-On-Demand (V OD) services.
