8 Instructions for Installation Attach a hose to the water heater drain valve and put the other end in a floor drain or outdoors. Open the water heater drain valve. Open a near by hot water faucet which will relieve pressure in the water heater and speed draining.

20 Drain V alve W asher Replacement NOTE: F or replacement, use a 17 ⁄ 32 ″ x 13 ⁄ 64 ″ x 1 ⁄ 8 ″ thick washer available at your nearest hardware store. F or order ing a replacement washer , refer to the “ Repair P arts” section. 1. Before beginning turn “OFF ” the electr ical power supply to the water heater .
