7 76 c m A TT ACHING THE SHIELD WAR N I N G : The s hield must be pr op- erly ins talled. The shield prov ides partial protec tion t o the oper ator and others from the ris k of throw n objec ts , and is equipped with a line limiter blade whic h cut s ex ces s line to the proper length.

11 Scalping MOWIN G - - Y our t rimmer is ideal for mowing in places conv entional lawn mowers c annot reac h. In the mow ing position, keep the line parallel to the gr ound. Avoid pres s ing the head into the ground as this c an sc alp the ground and damage t he tool.

13 SERVIC E AND ADJUSTMENTS REPLACING THE LINE 1. Pr ess the tabs on the side of the trimmer head and remove c over and spool. Ta b Ta b Cove r Spool 2. Remov e any remaining line. 3. Clean dir t and debris fr om all parts. R e- place spool if it is worn or damaged.
14 10. Ins ert the ends of the lines thr ough exit holes in t he s ides of the c over. Line ex it hole Cover 1 1. Reinstall t he s pool and cov er onto the trimmer head. Pus h until c over snaps into place. BLADE REPLACEMENT Refer to the ASSEMBL Y sec tion for blade re- placement ins truct ions and illus trations .

S Stor e unit and fuel in a w ell v entilated area where fuel v apors cannot reac h s parks or open flames f rom water heaters , elec tric motors or s witc hes, furnac es , etc .
