When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following: READ ALL INSTR UCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE W ARNING- T o reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury: Before using Check the voltage rating of the vacuum cleaner before connecting the power cord to an electrical outlet.
Use Do not use vacuum on people or animals. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. Only dry sur faces should be vacuumed. Only use the vacuum as described in this manual. Use only Miele recommended accessories. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damage caused by non-compliance with these "Important Safety Instructions".
Do not use without dustbag and filters in place. Do not turn on or attempt to operate the vacuum cleaner unless the dustbag, dust compartment filter and exhaust filter are in place. Only use genuine Miele double-layer dustbags and filters (see "Maintenance and care" for instructions on how to insert the dustbag and filters).
Maintenance and care A damaged power cord must only be replaced with a genuine Miele cord by an authorized service agent. Do not leave the vacuum plugged in. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before servicing. Do not put anything into openings or use with any opening blocked.

N’utilisez pas les brosses à parquet, les accessoir es et les tubes au niveau de la tête pour éviter des blessures aux yeux et aux or eilles. N’utilisez pas l’appareil pour éponger des surfaces de liquides inflammables ou combustibles, tels que l’essence, ou dans des pièces où de tels liquides pourraient être entr eposés.
Utilisation des accessoires L ’électrobrosse Miele est un accessoire électrique utilisable uniquement avec les aspirateurs Miele. Il ne doit pas être utilisé avec des aspirateurs d’une marque autr e que Miele. Lorsque vous nettoyez avec l’électrobr osse ou la turbobrosse Miele, ne touchez pas la brosse rotative.
Entretien Si le cordon d’alimentation est endommagé, ne le remplacez que par un cordon d’alimentation original Miele disponible chez un détaillant autorisé. Ne laissez pas l’aspirateur branché. Débranchez-le lorsque vous ne l’utilisez pas et avant de procéder à son entr etien.

Attaching the suction hose ^ Slide open the dust compartment shutter (depending on model). The dust compartment shutter is designed for clean handling and prevents dust and odors fr om escaping. If you remove the suction hose from the vacuum cleaner for storage close the dust compartment shutter before putting it away .
Connecting the suction hose and the telescopic wand ^ Fit the handpiece of the suction hose firmly into the suction wand. T ur n the handpiece and wand in opposite directions until they lock with a click. ^ T o release the handpiece fr om the telescopic wand press the locking button (see arrow) and pull apart.
Attaching the floor brush (select models) ^ Insert the telescopic wand into the floor brush and turn in either direction until it locks with a click. ^ T o release the floor brush fr om the telescopic wand, press the locking button (see arrow) and pull the wand out of the floor brush.
Accessory tools for various types of cleaning are supplied with the vacuum cleaner . a Crevice nozzle * b Crevice nozzle extension * , supplied seperately c Dusting brush d Upholstery nozzle * depending on model The tools are located in the accessory compartment, where they can be rearranged after use.
The differ ent tools can either be fitted to the handpiece or to the suction wand. Crevice nozzle (select models) For cleaning in folds, crevices and corners. Crevice nozzle e xtension (select models) This accessory can be used to extend the length of the crevice nozzle by pulling out the inner section.
Upholstery nozzle For cleaning upholstery , mattresses, cushions, curtains, covers etc. Blower connection soc ket The blower connection socket can be used to connect the suction hose to the "blower" outlet of the vacuum cleaner , e.g. for dusting off multi-layer ed radiators.
^ Unlock the exhaust filter , pull it up and out. ^ Angle the closed blower connection socket backwards into the exhaust grill a ^ and press down b so it clicks into place. ^ Close the dust compartment lid. T o take the blower connection socket out, lift it up in an angle and pull it out from the bracket.
P ower cor d Unwinding ^ Hold the plug and unwind cable to the requir ed length (max 21’ 4" / 6.5 m): , If the vacuum cleaner is operated more than 30 minutes the power cord must be unwound at least 2 / 3 . T o reduce the risk of electric shock, the vacuum has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
T urning the vacuum on and off ^ Press the On-Of f switch. While vacuuming The vacuum cleaner can also stand on its end for vacuuming stairs, drapes etc. V acuuming fine dust, flour or sawdust can create static charge which can discharge in certain circumstances.
Adjusting the suction (models with rotary selector) The suction power can be regulated to suit the type of flooring. Select the middle suction setting (symbol d ) for smooth and hard floors and a higher setting for carpets. Rotary selector ^ T ur n the suction power selector to the desired setting.
P ark-System A Park-System has been designed for convenient parking of the telescopic wand at the vacuum cleaner during pauses. ^ Attach the floor tool in the park bracket of the vacuum cleaner . T ranspor t and storage ^ Stand the vacuum cleaner vertically .
When to change the dustbag Change the dustbag when the colored marker in the dustbag change indicator fills the display . The dust bags are disposable and intended to be used only once. Do not attempt to reuse. Checking the dustba g change indicator ^ Attach the floor brush to the vacuum cleaner .
, T ur n off the vacuum and unplug it from the outlet befor e perfor ming any maintenance work. The Miele filter system consists of three filters - dustbag, dust compartment filter (motor protection), exhaust filter - which must be replaced.
Replacing the dustbag Open the dust compartment lid. ^ Press the r elease button for the dust compartment lid and raise the lid until it clicks into place. Changing the dustbag ^ Grasp the card collar by the two finger holes and pull it out from the dustbag holder .
Changing the filters SUPER air clean ^ Open the dust compartment lid. ^ Unlock and open the blower connection socket. ^ Open the filter frame and remove the used "SUPER air clean" filter (see arrow). ^ Insert the new filter either way up. ^ Close the filter frame.
Changing the dust compartment filter ^ Open the dust compartment lid. ^ Open the filter frame, remove the old filter and replace with a new one. ^ Close the filter frame. Changing the thread catcher The thread catcher pads on the bottom of the floor tool and the upholstery tool should be checked occasionally .
, Always turn off the vacuum and unplug it from the outlet befor e perfor ming maintenance or a repair . V acuum cleaner and accessories External sur faces of the vacuum cleaner and accessories can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth or with a cleaner suitable for plastics.
What if the vacuum c leaner turns off while vacuuming? On se veral models the thermo indicator , lights. The vacuum has overheated. The temperature limiter switched of f the vacuum automatically . On select models the , thermo indicator lights. Check the telescopic wand and the suction hose for blockages.

T urbobrush (standard or optional accessory) The T urbobrush is intended for cleaning short to medium pile carpeting. It is mechanically driven by the suction power of the vacuum. In addition to dust particles it removes stubbornly adhered thr eads, hairs and fluff.
Hard floor brush (standard or optional accessory) T o vacuum sturdy har d floors, e.g. tiles and stone floors. P arquet floor brush (standard or optional accessory) Special brush with natural bristles intended for cleaning parquet and laminate floors, especially those susceptible to scratching.
Crevice nozzle (standard or optional accessory) For cleaning in folds, crevices and corners. Radiator brush For cleaning radiators, narrow shelves or crevices. ^ Attach the radiator brush onto the crevice nozzle. Mattress tool For cleaning deep crevices, mattr esses and upholstery .
Universal brush For dusting books, shelfs etc. Dust brush with natural bristles For dusting particularly delicate objects. Crevice nozle 12" (300 mm) For cleaning in folds, crevices and corners.
CarClean Set Plus Specially designed for cleaning car interiors. Accessory set consists of: – Hand T urbobrush – Microhose with combi nozzle – Crevice tool 12" (300 mm) – Accessory carr ying case, 10 ft (3 m) long suction hose and holder .
A CTIVE air clean filter (standard or optional accessory) A special active charcoal filter which absorbs odors from the dust collected in the dustbag. The "ACTIVE air clean filter" can be used in place of the existing exhaust filter . Before doing so take out the blower connection socket.
Disposal of the packing materials The cardboar d box and packing materials protect the appliance during shipping. They have been designed to be biodegradable and recyclable. Ensure that any plastic wrappings, bags, etc. are disposed of safely and kept out of the reach of childr en.
