INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Grounding a n d E l e c t r i c a l c o n - nection Grounding instructions This appliance must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction, groun d- ing will reduce the risk of electri c shock by providing a path of least resistance for the electric curren t.
Installation The machine should be level to ensure safe and proper operation. Minor dis- crepancies do not, h owever, have an adverse effect on operation. The machine can be leveled by tu rn- ing the legs clockwise or counter- clockwise as necessary. Turn the counternuts up and tighten against the bottom.
Changing the decor panel Note: The door should be closed when installing the decor panel. On the door lock side remove the 4 screws (3 on the side and 1 under- neath) and the doo r strip. Loosen the remaining 7 scre ws on the lower and side decor strips until the decor panel can be bowed slightly and taken out.
Fitting a toekick panel The appliance toekick below the do or can be concealed using a toekick panel. The height and depth of the applian ce toekick cannot be altered. A cut-out must be made in the toekick panel around the ventilation slo ts as otherwise the a irflow to the appl iance will be blocked and t he machine will not dry efficiently.
Installation - venting The moist air from the dryer must be vented to the outside. The appliance should not be vented into a chimney, a wall, a ceiling, or any concealed spaces of the building. When installing, try to avoid: – very long venting systems – too many bends or angles – tight corners otherwise .
The shorter the exhaust ductwork, the more efficient the dryer will be. Ex- pelled air is slowed down in the ducts due to friction against the inner walls, therefore the shorte r and smoother the inner walls are, the less friction will occur. An elbow or bend creates more fric tion than a straight duct.
Table II Effective duct length (m) Internal diameter or edge length (mm) 0-20 20-30 30-43 43-60 100 110 120 130 Flexible ducting has been used for th e following example. Example: Exhaust connection, left . . . . . . . 6.0 m Length (L) . . . . . . . .
Moist air can be ducted outside by a wall vent or window vent, both of which are available from most hardware stores. Wall vent kit - example 1. Louvred wall vent frame 2. Wall vent duct 3. Adapter 4. Louvred wall vent 5. Flap 6. Screw 7. Wall anchor Dryer-top view: 1.
