EN-2 Pr eparation/SetUp Pr eparation before using the network function This projector is equipped with the network function to contr ol and monitor the projector’ s operations using a W eb browser and to send e-mail notifi cation. Before using the network function, perform the following thr ee preparation steps.
EN-3 1 Copy three fi les (Installer_Mitsubishi.msi, Setup.Exe, and Setup.Ini) contained in the T ools folder of CD- ROM to the hard disk of your personal computer . 2 Double-click the fi le named Setup.Exe. 3 When the following window appears, click Next.
EN-4 Preparation/SetUp (continued) 4 Select a folder to install the program, and click Next. 5 Click Next. 6 Installation starts. • The pr ogress of the installation process is displayed as shown on the right. 7 When the installation pr ocess is completed, click Close.
EN-5 1 Start the Projector -Control Device Installer . • Select [Start] - [All Programs] - [Mitsubishi] - [Mitsubishi Projector - Contr ol Device Installer] (in the case of Windows ® XP). 2 Click the Search button. • Mitsubishi projector is r ecognized.
EN-6 5 Select [Obtain an IP address automatically] and click Next. 6 Click Next. • Check that the options are marked with check- marks as shown on the right. Keep them un- changed for normal use. 7 Click Assign. 8 Click Finish. 9 Click the Search button.
EN-7 5 Select [Assign a specifi c IP addr ess] and click Next. 6 Enter a fi xed IP addr ess (for example, 192.168.0.1) and click Next. (Note) Do not use 0 or 255 for the last digit of the IP address. 7 Click Assign. 8 Click Finish. 9 Click the Search button.
EN-8 1 Start the Projector -Control Device Installer . • Select [Start] - [All Programs] - [Mitsubishi] - [Mitsubishi Projector - Contr ol Device Installer] (in the case of Windows ® XP). 2 Press the + buttons on the left pane to expand the tree structur e until the IP address you set appears.
EN-9 1 Enter “0” and press the Enter key . 2 Enter a new password (example: “pr oj2000”) and press the Enter key . (Default password is MITSUBISHI.) (Note) Use single-byte alphanumeric characters only . Setting the password (Passwor d Setup) 1 Enter “1” and press the Enter key .
EN-10 1 Enter “3” and press the Enter key . 2 T o enable the e-mail notifi cation function of Projector - View , enter 1 and press the Enter key . (Default is OFF (0).) (See pages 12 - 15 for ProjectorView function.) Setting the LAN control (LAN-Contr olled Mode) 1 Enter “5” and press the Enter key .
EN-11 1 Enter “9” and press the Enter key . 2 The setting screen is shaded and the setting pr ocess completes. Save and exit • Because the password, display language, LAN contr ol, and PJLink ™ certifi cation are set using the telnet function, you can also set them on the command prompt window of the personal computer .
EN-12 1 Start the Projector -Control Device Installer . • Select [Start] - [All Programs] - [Mitsubishi] - [Mitsubishi Projector - Contr ol Device Installer] (in the case of Windows ® XP). 2 Expand the tree structur e on the left pane until the IP address you set appears.
EN-13 5 The passwor d input screen appears. Enter the password you set. • The default password is MITSUBISHI. (Note) If you input a wrong password three successive times, the W eb browser is closed. In this case, r epeat from step 1. 6 The ProjectorView main scr een appears.
EN-14 ProjectorView (continued) VIRTUAL REMOTE contr oller Put a checkmark in the box of the Virtual remote enabled on the Pr ojectorView main screen, and click the VIRTUAL REMOTE button. The following Virtual Remote window appears. For the functional descriptions of each button, see the user manual of the projector .
EN-15 Initial setting T o load information on the pr ojector such as model name and lamp operating time, set the pr ojector data in advance. Click the SETUP button on the ProjectorView main scr een. The Projector Setup screen appears. Enter data according to the description of each setting item.
EN-16 Support for the PJLink™ function This projector supports standar d protocol PJLink ™ for projector contr ol and you can control and monitor pr ojector’ s operations using the same application among projectors of dif ferent models and differ ent manufacturers.
EN-17 [Notes on Instant Shut Down] Instant shutdown of the projector during contr ol using the network function may cause ProjectorView to fail to display data correctly .
