1 In This Manual This manual describes installing and setting up the MCE Unive rsal Serial Network p roduct. The USN is used to allow equipment without approp riate networking capabilities to communicate with state-of-the-art, MCE soft ware applications including iMonitor, iReport, and BMS-Link.

USN Installation 3 Mounting the Board Assemblies 1. Determine an appropriate location for the USN-BASE assembly. (P r eferred location is in the upper left quadrant of the control enclosure.) 2. Mount the board, facing outward, such that access to critical controller components is not blocked.

Device Type Note It is important that all communication wires are disconnected from the USN board b efore changing the device type .
Configuration 5 Escalator Only If you are not configuring an es cala tor, proceed to IP Setup. An escalator connection has additional parameters that n eed to be configured. Please note: each escalator must have its own unique lift number . 1. Place switch F7 in the up position.

Communication Connections 7 PTC/PHC 1. Connect the external Ethernet cab le to Ethernet Port A on the USN-BASE as sembly . 2. The boards in the controller are connected along a ribbon cable bus. Connec t the M2C assembly’s “From PCA” (JP3) to the last co ntroller board on the bus using supplied rib- bon cable.

MC USN Information 9 MC USN Information This section describes the fe atures of the USN device. Jumper Settings These jumper settings apply to th e Rev X3-0 version of the MPU-M board.

Security Password Defaul t for IMC Connections 13 Security Password Default for IMC Connections If the USN is connected to an IMC controller with the C RT Security feature enabl ed, the USN will allow iMonitor software to configure security parameters.
