2 TABLE OF CONTENTS FINDING MODEL NUMBER This Operator’s Ma nual is an important part of your new yard vacuum. It w ill help you assemble, prepare and maintain the unit for best performance. Please read and unde rstand what it says. Before assembli ng your new equipment, cop y the information from the model plat e in the space provided below.
3 SECTION 1: IMPORTANT SAFE OPERATION PRACTICES General Operation 1. Read this operator’s manual carefully i n its entirety before attempting to as semble this machine. R ead, understand, and follo w all instructions o n the machine and in the manual(s) b efore operation.
4 Operation 1. Do not put hand s and feet n ear rotat ing parts or in th e feeding chambers and di scharge opening. Contac t with the rotating impeller can a mputate fingers, hands, and feet. 2. Before starting th e machine, make sure the ch ipper chute, feed intake, and cutting ch amber are empt y and free of all debris.
5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR LAWN MOWER Removing Unit From Carton • Remove staple s, break glue on top flaps, or cut tape at carton end an d peel along top flap to ope n. • Remove loose parts if included with unit (i. e., operator’s manu al, grass bag, safety g lasses etc.
6 NOTE: The safety swit ch button attache d to the mounting bracke t must be fully depressed by the fron t tab on the bag han dle when securing the bag or the engine w ill not start.
7 Bag Collects shredded materi al fed through the chipper chute or vacuumed throug h the nozzle. Bag Handle Used to grasp bag in order to assist in att aching, removing and emp tying bag. Chipper Chute Allow twigs and sm all branches up to 1-1/2” in diameter to be fed in to the impeller f or chipping.
8 • Remove bag from r im of the discharge op ening. Refer to F igure 3. • Twist the t wo buttons on the back of the bag to unlock and emp ty contents. See F igure 7. • Hold bag hand le and clip while emp tying contents. • Compress bag op ening and fold inner flap ove r the opening.
9 Removing The Flail Scr een If the dischar ge area becomes clogged, rem ove the flail screen and clean ar ea as follow s: • Stop the en gine and m ake certain the chippe r shredder vacu um has come to a complete stop. • Disconnect spark p lug wire from spark p lug and ground agains t the engine.
10 • Remove flange lock nut tha t secures flail screen to the lower housing. The flail screen does not have to be removed. • Remove the hex bo lt, lock washer, and flat washer that secure the im peller assemb ly to the cranksh aft.
11 SECTION 6: TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE: For repairs be yond the minor adjustments listed above, contact your nearest authori zed service dealer. Prob lem Cause Remedy Engine fails to start 1. Spark plug wire disconne cted. 2. Fuel tank emp ty or stale fuel.
