7 SECTION 3: ASSEMBLING YOUR LAWN MOWER Unpacking • Remove s taples, break glue on top flap s, or cut tape at cart on end and peel al ong top flap to op en carton. • Remov e loose parts if include d with unit (i.e., owner’s m anual, e tc.). • Cut alo ng corners and la y carton do wn flat.

12 SECTION 6: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS Handle Height The mowe r is ship ped with the handle at a higher hei ght position . To lower the han dle height, pr oceed as follow s. • Rem ove t he star ter r ope fr om th e rope guide . • Remove the h and knob s, washer s and carriage bolts securi ng the upper ha ndle to the lower handle.
13 SECTION 7: MAINTAINING YOUR LAWN MOWER Maintaining the Blade • Perio dically ins pect the bla de adapter for cracks, especia lly i f you s trike a foreign obje ct. Repl ace when neces sary. • Remov e the b olt and bell sup port whi ch hold t he blade and ada pter to the engine crankshaft.
14 • Main tain engine oil level as in structe d in engine manual. • Servi ce air clea ner every 25 hours under nor mal conditio ns. Clean ev ery few hours under extrem ely dusty con ditions. Poor engin e performanc e and flooding usually i ndicates that the ai r cleaner should be serviced.
