3 SECTION 1: IMPORTANT SAFE OPERATION PR ACTICES General Ope ration 1. Read this op erator’s ma nual car efully in its en tirety before at tempting to assem ble this mac hine. Read , unders tand, and foll ow all instruc tions on the mach ine and in the ma nual(s) before ope ration.
4 16. Mow in da ylight or good artifici al light. Walk , never run. 17. Stop the bla de when cr ossing gra vel drives , walkways or roads. 18. If the equipm ent should s tart to vibrat e abnormally, stop the engi ne and chec k immedia tely for the cause.
5 10. Never over fil l fuel tank. Fill ta nk to no more than ½ inch below bottom of filler n eck to prov ide space for fuel expan sion. 11. Replace gasoline c ap and tighten securely. 12. If gaso line is sp illed, wip e it off the eng ine and equipm ent.

7 SECTION 3: ASSEMBLING YOUR LAWN MOWER Removing Unit From Car ton • Remov e staples , break g lue on top fl aps or cut tap e at car ton end and peel along top flap to o pen carton. • Remov e loose parts if include d with uni t (i.e., operator' s manual, ha rdware pa ck etc.
8 • Insert post o f cable ties t hat are on lowe r handle into the ho les provid ed on the lo wer handle. The holes may be on th e inside or outside. Pu ll cable ties tight an d cut off the extra. 10 SECTION 4: KNOW YOUR LAWN MOWER Read this own er’s manu al and safety rules be fore opera ting your lawn mower. Com pare the il lustrations in Figure 11 with you r lawn mower to fam iliarize yourself with the loca tion of various control s and adjustme nts.
11 SECTION 5: OPERATING YOUR LA WN MOWER Gas and Oil Fill-Up • Servi ce the engin e with gasol ine and oil as instruc ted in the separate engine manua l packed with your mower. Read the instructions carefully. Befor e Starting Mow er • Attach spar k plug wire to s park plug.
12 SECTION 6: MAINTAINI NG YOUR LAWN MOWER Cleaning t he Mower • Clean t he un derside o f the mo wer dec k after each use to prevent any build- up of g rass clippin gs. I f this debris is allo wed to accu mula te, it will result in rust and corro sion.
13 SECTION 7: SERVICING YOUR MOW ER Blade Care Periodi cally ins pect the blad e adapter- pulley as sembly for crack s, especi ally if yo u strike a foreig n object. Replace whe n necessary. • Discon nect spark pl ug wire from s park plug. • Turn mower on its side making sure that the air filter and the ca rburetor are up .
