Introduction Congratulations on y our purc hase of an advanced NAPCO EXPRESS XP- 400 Security Sy stem. 4 1 Bell / Battery Test Test y our bell or siren by pressing followed by . This will caus e the bell, or siren to sound f or 2 seconds and also initiate a test of the battery . 2 Central Station Communication Test (This test should only be perform ed on weekends or at a time designated by y our alarm com pany) 1.
Key pad Controls and Indi cator s Ready Light will light when all z ones are sec ure and system is r eady to be Armed. Zone Lights ( 1 through 4) will light to indicate that the corres ponding Zone is open, and will flash to indic ate a z one in alarm .
A rming Your Sy stem When Leaving 1 Before arm in g y our system, m ak e sure the Green Ready li g ht is ON. T his indicates that all of y our prot- ective zones are secur e. If any zones are open, the corres pondin g Zone li g ht will be ON. Secure these zones before proceedin g .

Emergency Buttons The two s ets of em ergency buttons, if pr ogramm ed, are always active whether the system is armed or disarm ed. Discuss these buttons with y our installer. The em ergency signal will only be activated when the two respective buttons ar e pressed at the sam e time.
Disarming Your Sy stem when Returning 1 Enter y our prem ises throu g h the Entry/Exit door. The k ey pad will sound a steady tone to rem ind y ou to disarm the system befor e y our Entry Delay tim e expires. 2 Enter y our user code. Your Installer has ass igned a User 1 Code which may be used to not only Arm and Disarm the system, but also to enter the User Program Mode, where y ou can program and/or reprogram up to 4 User Codes. The following explains how you w ill use this c ode to program or erase additional user codes .
The X P400 is constantly monitoring its own com ponents, as well as all c ritical services , such as AC Power and the Telephone line, to insure that it is alway s ready to provide the protection for which it was designed. W hen a sy stem trouble does occ ur, it will caution you by lighting the Yellow SYST EM light and beeping the keypad buzz er.
