Chapter 1 1 Overview Aspire T130 will use AK32 (Aspire T310) chassis. It will be a lo w cost K8 solution with memory card reader and firewire solution. Aspire T130 is a versatile, high- power system, supporting AMD K8 CPUs (754). The computer uses Peripheral Component Interface (PCI) and Accele rated Graphics Port (AGP) design.

27 Chapter 2 T ypematic Rate (Chars/sec) After T ypematic Rate Setting is en abled, this item allows you to set rate (characters/second) at which at keys are accelerated. 35 Chapter 2 Power Management Setup This option lets you control system power manag ement. The system has various power-saving modes including powering down the hard disk, turning off the video, suspending to RAM, and software power down that allows the system to b e automatically resumed b y certain events.
Chapter 2 36 Switch Function This option enables you to specify the function of the button: 1. Disabled: The button functi ons is disabled 2. Break/W ake: The butt on functions a re same as suspend button in APM mode.
37 Chapter 2 PM Wake Up Events Parameter Description Optio n IRQ [ 3-7, 9-15],NMI This option determines whether any activity for IRQ 3-7/9-15 will cause the system to wake from a power saving mode.
Chapter 2 38 Primary IDE When these items are enabled, the system will restart the power-saving timeout conunters when any activity is detected on any of the drives on the primary or secondary IDE channel.
39 Chapter 2 PnP/PCI Configurations These options configure how PnP (Plug and Play) and PCI expansion cards operate in your system. Both the ISA and PCI buses on the mainboard us e system IRQs (Interrupt ReQuests) and DMAs (Direct Memory Access).

41 Chapter 2 PC Health Status On mainboard tha t support hardware monitoring , this item lets you monitor the parameters for critical voltages, critical temperatures, and fan speeds. Chapter 2 42 Frequency/Voltage Control This item enables you to set the clock speed and system bus for your system. The clock speed and system bus are determined by the kind of pr ocessor you have installed in the system.
43 Chapter 2 Load Default Settings Y ou need to re load the BIOS default settings ever y time you make changes to your system hardware configuration (such as memory size, CPU type, ha rd disk type, etc.); otherwise, BIOS will keep the previous CMOS settings.

48 Chapter 3 General Information Before You Begin Before proceeding with the disassenbly procedu re, make sure that you do the following: 1. T urn off the power to the system and all peripherals. 2. Unplug the AC adapter and all power and signal cab les from the system.

50 Chapter 3 Standard Disassembly Procedure This section tells you how to disasse mble the system when yo u need to perform system service. Please also refer to the disassembly video, if available. CAUTION: Before you proceed, make sure you have turned off the system and all peripherals connected to it.

62 Chapter 4 Power-On Self-Test (POST) Each time you turn on the system, the Power-on Sel f T est (POST) is initiated. Several items are tested during POST, but is for the most part transparent to the user .
