1. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure t hat all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions. 2. Use the treadmill only as described. 3. Place the treadmill on a level surface, with at least eight feet of clearance behind it and two feet on each side.
21. Do not change the incline of the treadmill by p lacing objects under the treadmill. 22. When folding or moving the treadmill, make sure that the frame is held securely by the pin o n the latch knob. 23. Inspect and properly tighten all parts of the t readmill regularly.

7 ASSEMBL Y A ssembly requires two persons. S et the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. D o not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
8 2. Identify the Left Upright (73) and the Right Upright (74). Hold the Right Upright near the R ight Base Cover (77) as shown. Insert the Upright Wire Harness (75) up through the rec- t angular hole in the bottom of the Right Upright and out of the top of the Right Upright.
9 4. With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the Uprights (73, 74). Connect the Upright Wire Harness (75) to the C onsole Wire Harness (71). M ake sure to con- nect the connectors properly (see the inset drawing). The connectors should slide to- gether easily and snap into place.
10 8. Note the location of the 75 ohm antenna terminal and the audio/video input jack on the treadmill. For the television to operate, the included Audio/Video Wire Harness (115) and your DVD player o.
1 1 H OW TO CONNECT AN ANTENNA Indoor Antenna 1 . Place a VHF antenna in the desired loca- tion. Connect the 300 ohm fl at wire from the antenna to a 300 ohm to 75 ohm adapter. 2. Push the 300 ohm to 75 ohm adapter onto the 75 ohm an- tenna terminal on the treadmill frame near the power cord.
12 H OW TO PUT ON THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR T he chest pulse sensor consists of two components— the chest strap and the sensor unit. Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor unit, as shown in the inset drawing above.
13 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking b elt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
14 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec - tive and e njoyab le. When the manual mode of the con- sole is selected, the speed and incline of the treadmill can be changed with the touch of a button.
15 H OW TO TURN ON THE POWER Plug in the power cord (see page 13). Next, l ocate the reset/off cir- cuit breaker on the treadmill frame near the power cord. Make sure that the circuit breaker is in the reset position. Stand on the foot rails of the tread- mill.
16 Select a display mode and follow your progress with the exercise information on the screen. As you walk or run on the treadmill, the screen can d isplay the following exercise information: • The elapsed time. Note: When a program is se- lected, the screen will show the time remaining in the program instead of the elapsed time.
17 H OW TO USE AN EVENT TRAINING PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 1 5. S elect an event training program. To select an event training program, press the Event Training button repeatedly; the name of the program and a track will appear on the screen.
18 H OW TO USE A PRESET PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 15. S elect a preset program. To select a preset program, press the Aerobic Fitness button, the Performance button, or the Weight Loss button repeatedly.
19 H OW TO CREATE A CUSTOM PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 15. S elect one of the four custom programs.
20 H OW TO USE A CUSTOM PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 15. S elect one of the four custom programs. To select a custom program, press the Custom button repeatedly. When a custom program is se- lected, the name of the program (CUSTOM: 1, CUSTOM: 2, CUSTOM: 3, or CUSTOM: 4) will appear on the screen.
21 H OW TO USE A HEART RATE PROGRAM Follow the steps below to use a heart rate program. Put on the chest pulse sensor. Note: You must wear the chest pulse sensor to use a heart rate program. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 15.
22 To stop the program at any time, press the Stop but ton . To restart the program, press the Start but - t on. The walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph.
23 H OW TO USE THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that allows you to view treadmill usage information, select a sys- t em of measurement for the console, and turn on and t urn off the demo mode.
24 HOW TO ADJUST THE CUSHIONING SYSTEM T he treadmill features a cushioning system that re- duces the impact as you walk or run on the treadmill. T o increase the firmness of the walking platform, step off the treadmill and slide the cushion adjusters toward the front of the treadmill.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be- c ome permanently damaged. Remove the key and unplug the pow er cord.
26 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
27 Next, locate the Reed Switch (14) and the Magnet (12) on the left side of the Pulley (11). Turn the Pulley u ntil the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and t he Reed Switch is about 1/8”. I f necessary, loosen the indicated Screw (29), move the Reed Switch slightly, and then retighten the Screw.
28 PROBLEM: The incline of the treadmill does not change correctly S OLUTION: a . With the key in the console, press one of the Incline buttons. W hile the incline is changing, re- move the key. After a few seconds, re-insert the key. The treadmill will automatically rise to the m aximum incline level and then return to the minimum level.
29 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. For more detailed exercise informa- tion, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician.
