6 Secure Router 4134 The Nortel Secure Router 4134 is a modular, multi-service platform that integrates multiple networking functions, including routing, W AN, Ethernet switching, se curity a nd Voice over IP (VoIP) into a single device.

8 Survivable SIP PSTN Gate w ay Figure 2 shows a survivable branch office deployme nt with CS 10 00 Call Server locat ed at the corporate m ain off ice or data ce nter and Secure Route r providing survivable SI P-PSTN gateway funct ionality complimenting the e xisting data infrastru cture.

10 Introduct ion This documen t describes the quick start configurat ion of Nortel Secure Rout er 2330/4134 (Release 10.2) as survivable branch SIP-PSTN gate way f or Nortel Communicat ion S erver 1000 (Re lease 6.0). 13 ensure that incoming calls are routed through t he SSM. Th e same call f low ho lds good for the call originated by t he SIP e ndpoint connected to CS 1000. W hen th e call a rrives at S SM, it will lo ok for a mapped contact in its registration “cache” a nd route s the call to the UA.
14 SSM wi ll receive th e incoming ca lls f rom SPS that a re destined for PSTN. For suc h calls SSM will not be able to f ind a m apped contact in its registration cache and h ence routes the call to configured default gateway which is SIP GW.
