5 Reference Manual Congratulations on your purchase of a Northst ar N S1 00 radio! There are two models available; the N S1 00 S S (Single System) and the N S1 00 D S (Dual System). Both provide the following useful features: • an alphanumeric handset with built-in L CD screen for easy operation and information display .

31 Reference Manual DS C (Digit al Selec tive Calling) is a VH F radio transmission system that can transmit dig ital signals. DS C capability enables you to use the Global Maritime Distress Signalling System (G M D S S) to transmit a coded distress signal using the DI ST RESS button.
