Page 4 NOTE DPS3304 & DPS3314 are four channel units. Therefor e, any reference to channel numbers with respect to these models is for channels 1 through 4 only . DPS3307 and DPS3317 are seven ch annel units, and therefore, any reference to channel numbers for these models is for channels 1 through 7.
Page 5 DESCRIPTION DPS3300 Series instruments are multi-channel scanners that p ack a number of fun ctions into one un it. Tasks that require multiple monitors can now be accomplished by usi ng only a sing le unit.
Page 6 DISPLAYING PARAMETERS DPS3300 Seri es keeps track of various pa ramete rs and these m ay be displaye d by pushing ap propriate key s on the fro nt panel.
Page 7 DISPLAY MODES DPS3300 Series has multiple display modes and can be programmed to either scan, display the chann el with the highest reading, displ ay the chan nel with the l owest readin g, dev.
Page 8 Scan Mode When setup f or scan mode, i ndividual channels are displayed for a progra mmed period of time. At the end of that time period the, display automatically switches to the next chann el.
Page 9 Deviation Mode In deviation display mode, DPS3300 Series will show the differential between a pre-programmed setpo int and process variable bei ng monit ored on each chan nel by the sca nner.
Page 10 To get into S ETUP mode , push the SET UP key twice. The first push displays el apsed time and the second p ush brings the unit into the SETUP mode. SETUP mode is indicated by 'SETUP' in t he display window (t he SETUP LE D indicator will also be illuminated) followed by 'ENtR PC' (for ENt e R P ass C ode).
Page 11 NOTE: To exit from any point dur ing SETUP procedure or to save the newly made changes, simply press and hold the RESET key until the display shows 'SAVING '. When the display shows 'SAVING', it is indicating that the unchanged and the newly m ade changes are being save d in the EEPR OM for pe rmanent st orage.
Page 12 Setup For High Scale After setting a channel's decimal point position , the next parameter to be set is Hi Scale. This parameter determines what number will be displayed when the transducer puts out its maximum signal. For example, suppose a pressur e transducer pr oduces a 0 Vdc to 10Vdc si gnal which c orresponds t o 0psi to 150psi.
Page 13 For High Scale ) to set the desi red TARE num ber. Once the desi red TARE val ue is displ ayed, push SETUP key to enter that value and go to setup Set point. Setup For Setpoint After setting a channel's TARE, the next parameter to be set is channel's SETPOINT.
Page 14 When this parameter is set for "Normally Open", the relay is open when it is deactiv ated (readings are below LIMIT), a nd closes when the cha nnel reading exceeds its LIMIT value.
Page 15 Setup Examples Example #1: Use of the OFFSET Parameter Setup for a 4-20ma transducer signal cor responding to 0-500 gallons of fluid (reading in 10th of a gallon reso lution): D E C I M A L P O I N T = 9 9 9 . 9 HIGH SCALE = 500.0 L O W S C A L E = 0 0 0 .
Page 16 The channel numbers in Display Option #6 start with 'CH1 dI F' and go up to 'CH7 dIF' ( CH4 dIF for 4 channel units). Following this the display jumps b ack to Option #1 (elapsed time), and the cycle is repeated. Setup For Display Time The next pa rameter t o be set is DI SPL AY TIME.
Page 17 Setup For Channel Calibration After setting the Cold Junction Referen ce temp erature, the next step is a display of channels for calibration purposes. This allows easy calibration of each channel withou t the instrument scanning to the next channel.
Page 18 3. Adjust the gain pot of the instrument un til the display reads '1100' . 4. Short cha nnel #1' s input wi th a wire or s horting bar. 5. Push DIFF key. The display will read '0002' --- or som e other value . 6. Adjust offset pot of instrument u ntil the display reads '0000 ' .
Page 19 Once the desired channel has been selected, push 'HI/L O' key. Push ing it once will show the high peak attained by th e selected channel. Pushing it a second time will indicate the lo w process value (NOTE: The second push, to display valley, must be initiated before the display reverts to normal display mode).

Page 22 RATE DPS3300 seri es tracks the rat e of process c hange/minut e for each chan nel. This rate is displayed by first pushin g the CH. SEL key to select the channel whose rate is desired.
Page 23 NOTE: LOOK UNDER SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE RATING ON RELAYS AND OPEN COLLECTOR OUTPUTS. UNDER NO CONDITION SHOUL D THE RELAYS AND OPEN COLLECTOR OUTPUTS BE OPERATED BEYOND THEIR RAT ED CAPACITY. DOING SO C AN DAMAGE THE UNIT PERMANENTLY. The status of the relays for all the cha n nels is indicat ed on the front panel by a row of LEDs.

Page 25 DIRECT INTERFACE TO UNIVERSAL RELAY MODULE A special feature in the DPS3 300 series units allows direct interfacing with Universal Relay Module (Model RELAY- URM400/800) – via a se rial interface. The serial interface is av ailable at a separate conne cto r (as shown) in the term inal compartment.
