7 PREP ARA TION Importa nt : Com plete all other con- nection s t o the System 730 before you connect it to power. CONNECT ING THE SPEAKERS 1. P ress open the pair of t erminal tabs ma r ked M AIN SPE.
8 CONNECTING THE FM ANTENNA To connec t the supp lied FM ant enna, loosen the screw caps on the t ermi- nals marked FM ANTENNA / 300 Ω on the back of the System 730, slip the antenna’ s spade lugs onto the termi- nals, then tighten the screw caps.
9 SETTI NG THE CURRENT TIM E 1. P ress POWER to tu rn on the System 730, then press DIS- PLA Y once. TI ME and the l ast- set time appear on the display . 2. W ithin 5 second s, press HOUR to change the hou r setti n g or MINUTE to change the minu te setting.

11 BA S IC O PE R A T IO N USIN G TH E DEMONSTRA T IO N FEA T URE To showc ase the feat ures of y our System 730 and i ts dual di splay, press DEMO , or press and hold DIS- PLA Y for about 2 s econds. The sys- tem repeat edly runs a preset progra m on both displays.

13 Changin g the Preset Graphic E q ualizer Sett ings The sou nd p roduced by your Sys tem 730 is deli vered over f ive different soun d frequencies — 70 Hz, 300 Hz, 1 KHz, 3.5 KH z, and 10 K Hz. You can set the balance of these frequen- cies using your system’ s three preset graphic equal izer settings.
14 RADIO OPERA TI ON LI ST EN IN G TO T H E RADIO 1. Repeat edly press TUNER to select the desired band. Select AM f or AM s tations, or FM 1 or FM2 fo r F M s tations. As you press TUNER , AM , FM1 or FM2 and the last sel ected station appear on the display .
15 • T o improve reception for weak FM st ereo stations, press STEREO/MODE so MONO (monaural ) appears on the display . The sound is no longer in stereo, but reception shou ld improve. T o re turn to stereo sound, press STEREO/ MODE . • For the bes t FM recep tion, fully extend the FM antenna.
16 • When power is disc onnec ted or interrupted for 50 hours or more, the System 730 l oses all of its me mo ry s ett in gs . Recallin g a St ored Station 1. P ress TUNER t o select the desired band . 2. P ress the desi red station’s memory number (1-8).
17 CD CHANGER OPERA TIO N The S ystem 730 lets you load up to seven CDs at once and gives you many opt ions to control the wa y it plays them . Note : You can play a 3-inch CD in your System 730, but you must load it in CD tray position 1 (see “Loading and P laying a CD”).

T o play a different CD, press the desired dis c number , or press DISC then t he disc nu mber on the re mot e c on t ro l, to se le ct th e CD. Then press PLA Y , or press CD on the remote con- trol to b egin play .
19 SPECIAL CD CHANG ER FEA TURES Autom atic Search Music System (ASMS) The automati c search music syst e m lets you skip forward or bac kward through the t racks on all loaded CDs. • T o skip to t he beginni ng of the next track, press and release >> , or CD >> on t he remote control.

21 PROGRAMMED PLA Y You can program the CD changer to play up t o 50 t racks i n any order y ou choo se, and you can program the same CD and/or track t o play m ore than once.

24 If the System 730 is subjected to a sudden shock or jolt during play, the CD’s rotation speed m ight sudde nly change, a nd the m usic m ight be brief ly inter rup ted . This is no t a m al- fun ct i on . Cautio ns : • T o avoid damagi ng the CD changer , do n ot place a nythin g but a CD in the CD drawer .
25 CASSE TTE DECK OP ERA TION The S ystem 730 has a dual cas set te deck system which lets you autom at- ically play two cass ette tapes con- secuti vely, reco rd from the CD chan ger, rec o rd one cassette tape onto another, an d m ore. Notes : • T he rem ote con trol does n ot operate the System 730’s cas- sett e deck.

29 Co pyi n g Ca sse t te T ape s The S ystem 730 lets you dub (copy) one casset te t a pe to another, one side at a time , using its dual cassette decks (TA PE 1 and TAP E 2). 1. Lo ad a bla nk cassette tape, or one yo u want to record over , into T APE 2.
