Designed with fun in mind, t he T o te N’ T eac h ™ is packed full of learning, offering stimulating games and activities that mak e an in valuable contrib ution to your child’s dev elopment.
Getting Started Y our Barbie ™ T o te N’ T eac h ™ operates on 2 “ AA” batteries (included). Battery Installation 1) Unzip the learning computer compartment of the bag and remov e the unit. 2) Make sure the unit is turned of f. 3) Using a small Phillip’ s head screw driv er, unscre w the battery cover on the back of the unit.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire. • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be rechar ged. • Rechargeable batteries are to be remo ved from the toy before being charged. • Rechargeable batteries are only to be char ged under adult supervision.
Starting the Barbie ™ T ote N’ T each ™ T urn on the T o te N’ T ea ch ™ by pushing the “On/Off” button at the top right of the k eyboard.
Y ou can press the “Game Code” b utton (bottom left on the membrane keypad) at an y time to choose a different acti vity . Attempts Y ou ha ve three attempts on each question. After three incorrect answers, the T o te N’ T eac h ™ will rev eal the correct answer .
Mathematical Operation Buttons There are two operation sign b uttons. One of the buttons has the plus and minus signs on it and the other button has the times and divide signs on it. F or the games where you need to use these buttons: “Sign Up” and “Calculator”, the buttons will toggle the signs.
Activities 01 Flower Fun Guess the hidden word. 1.The T o te N’ T ea ch ™ displays a number of blank spaces in the middle of the screen representing the hidden letters of a word. 2.Select a letter by pressing any letter button. 3.If the letter is in the word, it will appear in the correct place in the word.
2. W ork out which letter is incorrect. 3. Mov e the wand ov er the letter either by pressing the left and right cursor keys or by pressing the letter button. (If there is more than one of the same letter press the letter key repeatedly and it will mo ve between them.
05 Math Dash T est your math skills by answering the equations. 1. The T o te N’ T eac h ™ displays an equation. 2. W ork out the answer, and k ey it in using the number buttons. 3. The answer is automatically submitted when you key in the last digit.
2. The shapes are co vered by square tiles. T ry to remember the positions of the shapes. 3. Highlight the tile you want to uncov er using the cursor keys. Press the “Enter” button to unco ver the shape. 4. Select the second shape in the pair using the same method.
09 Piece of Cake Mov e the cake layers to a dif ferent plate. 1. The screen is di vided into three columns. A cake with layers is shown on the left of the screen. Y ou ha ve to mo ve the cake, one la yer at a time, to a different part of the screen. 2.
5. A white diamond means that one of the shapes in your guess is the correct shape but in the wrong position. 6. If you get a blank, then one of the shapes in your guess is not in the pattern that the T o te N’ T ea ch ™ made up. 7. Use the clues T o te N’ T ea ch ™ giv es you to guess the pattern correctly .
4. Y ou hav e three balls to try to break all the blocks. 13 River J ump Help the frog cross the lake using the moving logs. 1. Control the frog with the cursor keys. 2. T ry to reach the frog’ s home at the top of the screen, by moving the frog onto the logs.
3. If you press the “Help” button the shapes will be replaced with numbers. 16 Bee Prepar ed Find the flowers without disturbing the bee! 1. The T o te N’ T eac h ™ shows a grid of clouds on the screen. One of the clouds is flashing. 2. Mov e the flashing highlight with the cursor keys to select a cloud you w ant to remove.
4. Mov e the arrow back to the dra wing area and press the “Enter” button to draw with the selected tool. 5. Y ou can erase your drawing using the eraser tool at the bottom right of the toolbar . 18 Balloon Drop Guide the balloon to the landing site.
