Getting Star t ed 5 Getting Started With y our Spri nt service, y ou ar e ready to start enjoying the adv ant ages of Sprin t P ower Vision . This section he lps you l earn the bas ics of using your da ta services , including managing your user name, launching a Visi on connection, and na viga ting the W eb with your device.
6 Launching a Data Connection T o launch a data connect ion from your device: 1. Press Applications and select We b . 2. Y ou may see a dialog r equesting permission to connect to the In ternet (see “Net Guard” on page 7). S elec t Ye s to proceed.
Getting Star t ed 7 Net Guard When you first connect to the W eb, the Net Guard appears and ask s you t o confirm that y ou want to connect. This feature he lps you a voi d accidental c onnections. Y ou can disable the Net Guard i n the future by selecting Nev er ask me again when the Net Guard is displayed.
8 Data C onnection Status and Indicators Y our device’ s display lets yo u know the curren t status of y our data connection thr ough indicators whic h are displa yed a t the top of the scr een. The f ollowing symbols are use d: Y our phone is on and is co nnected to the high-speed Spri nt Mobil e Broadband da ta network.
Messaging 9 Messaging Y ou can send and receive emails, te xt messa ges, and instant messages , and participate in W eb-based chat rooms righ t from y our device. Messaging al lows you to stay connected 24 hours a day , anywher e on the Sprint Na tional Networ k.
10 4. F ollow the onscreen instructions to re ad, repl y to , compose, send, and manage messages in your IM acc ount. T o sign out of instant messaging: 䊳 Fr om any IM screen, pr ess Menu , se lect Actions , and then select Sign out to sign out of the current c ommunity or Sign out all to sign out of all active sessions.
Sprint T V 11 Sprint TV With Sprint Power Vision, you can watch live TV on the go right o n your wireless device. Accessing your Sprint TV chan nels is as easy as using t he remote control in your livi ng room. Where ver you go on th e Sprin t Na tional Net work, y ou ca n get mor e out of y our Sprint TV ser vice.
12 Sprint Music Manag er Sprint Mu sic Manager is a W indows desktop appl ica tion that k eeps all y our f av orite music organize d and a vaila ble. Use Sprint Mus ic Manager to pur chase and download music from the Sprint Digital L ounge, copy music files fr om a CD on your computer , and organize all your songs into pla ylists.

On Demand 15 Accessing On Demand Informa tion Finding the information you’ re looking f or with On Demand is as easy as navigating a W eb browser on your PC. (The following example illustra tes how to access News information.) T o access News information using On Demand: 1.
16 Select a nd explore other catego ries from the ma in screen, such as Weather , Spor ts, and Money , and enjoy the feature-rich content of On D emand. The Showbiz category lets you see wh ich movies are playing near y ou, including showtimes; for select theate rs, y ou can ev en purchase tickets right from your device.
Phone as Modem 17 Phone as Modem Y our device’ s data capabilities enable y ou to use its high-spe ed data c onnection as a modem for y our laptop c omputer anywher e on the Sprint Na tional Network. Y ou'll be able to send and receive email, browse the Internet, and acces s your company's network anywher e on the network.
18 5. On your c omputer , open the Sprint C onnection Manager softw are, select y our device name, and then click C onnect . 6. Once the connection is establ ished, launch an Internet session, check your email, or do anything else you would do using a tr aditional Internet c onnection.
