Preparation 5 Display : In the standby mode, the display shows the current time. (Ex. 12:00AM) : During a conversation, the call duration is displayed. (Ex. 2 hours, 14 minutes, 30 seconds) : (RECALL) was pressed. : (PAUSE) was pressed while storing phone numbers.

9 Preparation “ Programming Summary of Preparations You can program the following functions. The display shows the programming instructions. See the corresponding pages for function details. Make sure that a call is not put on hold. Press (MUTE) . Press (PROGRAM) to store the setting.

14 “ Making Calls During speakerphone operation For best performance, please note the following: ≥ Talk alternately with the other party in a quiet room. ≥ If the other party has difficulty hearing you, press VOLUME (_) to decrease the speaker volume.
Answering Calls 15 Basic Operation While a call is being received, the unit rings and the ringer indicator flashes. You can answer it by simply lifting the handset. Using the speakerphone 1 Press (SP-PHONE/HEADSET) . ≥ The indicator lights. 2 Talk into the MIC (microphone).
16 Storing Phone Numbers in Memory You can store up to 10 phone numbers Speed Dialler in memory. The dialling buttons ( (0 ) to (9) ) function as memory stations. Do not press any memory stations before storing to prevent error . Make sure that a call is not put on hold.
Advanced Operation 17 To erase a stored number 1 Press (PROGRAM) . 2 Press (AUTO/LOWER) . 3 Press a memory station number ( (0) to (9) ) for the phone number to be erased. ≥ A long beep sounds. ≥ The unit will return to the standby mode. Dialling a Stored Number 1 Lift the handset or press (SP-PHONE/HEADSET) .
18 Storing Phone Numbers in Memory You can store up to 20 phone numbers in the one-touch auto dial buttons (10 numbers in UPPER memory locations, 10 numbers in LOWER memory locations). Make sure that a call is not put on hold. To store in an UPPER memory location It is recommended that you program an emergency number in the EMERGENCY button.
Advanced Operation 19 “ To store in a LOWER memory location 1 Press (PROGRAM) . 2 Enter a phone number, up to 22 digits. ≥ If you enter a wrong number, press (PROGRAM) and start again from step 1. 3 Press (AUTO/LOWER) . 4 Press one of the one-touch auto dial buttons.
20 Dialling a Stored Number From an UPPER memory location: 1 Lift the handset or press (SP-PHONE/HEADSET) . 2 Press the required one-touch auto dial button. ≥ The stored number is displayed and dialled. OR From a LOWER memory location: 1 Lift the handset or press (SP-PHONE/HEADSET) .
Advanced Operation 21 Special Features “ How to Use the PAUSE Button (For Analog PBX Line/Long Distance Service Users) We recommend you press (PAUSE) if a pause is required for dialling with a PBX or to access a long distance service. Ex. Line access number (9) (PBX) (9) ¤ (PAUSE) ¤ ≥ Pressing (PAUSE) once creates a few seconds pause.
22 “ Special Features Turning Music Played During the Hold ON/OFF You can turn ON/OFF playing music during the hold as follows. Your phone comes from the factory set to ON. Make sure that a call is not put on hold. 1 Press (PROGRAM) . 2 Press (MUTE) .
Advanced Operation 23 “ RECALL Button Pressing (RECALL) allows you to use special features of your host PBX such as transferring an extension call or accessing special telephone services (optional) such as call waiting. Selecting the recall time The recall time depends on your telephone exchange or host PBX.
24 “ Special Features Setting the PI N Code A 4-digit PI N Code (Personal Identification Number) prevents unauthorised persons from using your unit. The PIN Code is required for the dial lock and call restriction to be set or cancelled. The factory preset PI N code is “ 1111 ”.
Advanced Operation 25 “ To cancel the dial lock Follow steps 1 through 3 above again. ≥ “ ” will disappear, and the unit will return to the standby mode. You can use the following features while the dialling buttons are locked. ≥ Dialling a number you programmed into the memory of the EMERGENCY button (p.
26 “ Special Features When dialling a phone number with the restricted leading digit(s), the dialled number will flash on the display, but not dialled out. Call Restriction You can prevent the unit from dialling phone numbers beginning with specified digit(s) (1 digit or 2 digits).
27 To cancel the call restriction Follow steps 1 through 5 on page 26. In step 6, press ($) to cancel call restriction (“– –” is displayed) and press (PROGRAM) .
“ Using the Optional Headset 28 Making/Answering Calls Make sure to install the batteries. 1 Press (SP-PHONE/HEADSET) to make or answer a call. ≥ The SP-PHONE/HEADSET indicator flashes. ≥ If you misdial when making a call, press (SP-PHONE/HEADSET) twice and dial again.
Battery Replacement 29 If “ ” flashes, the battery power is low. Install new batteries. Replace the batteries within 1 minute to keep the programmed settings. But the programmed time setting will be cleared. 1 Disconnect the telephone line cord from the unit.
30 Before Requesting Help Problem The unit does not work. The unit does not ring. You cannot dial. The other party suddenly cannot hear your voice during a conversation. You cannot program items such as the dialling mode. You cannot store a phone number in memory.
31 Useful Information Problem You cannot redial by pressing (REDIAL) . Previously programmed information is erased. Remedy ≥ If the last number dialled was more than 32 digits long, the number will not be redialled correctly. ≥ If the batteries installed in the unit expire, programmed information may be erased.
32 Safety Instructions Take special care to follow the safety suggestions listed below. Installations Environment 1) Do not use this unit near liquids—for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, sink, etc. Damp environments should also be avoided. 2) The unit should be kept away from heat sources such as hea ters, kitchen stoves , etc.
33 Useful Information WARNING: TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS PRODUCT TO LIQUID OR ANY TYPE OF MOISTURE. If there is any trouble, disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect a known working phone.
Important Information 34 Instructions to customer Installation Attached to this apparatus is an approval label. This label is evidence that it is a “Permitted Attachment” which has been authorised to be connected to your telephone service.
35 Useful Information If you are satisfied with the operation of your telephone service after plugging in your Permitted Attachment, your installation is completed.
