Thank you for purchasing th e Panasonic KX-TD7690, 2.4 GHz Portable St ation. Please read this manual carefully before using this product and save this manual for future use. This manual is designed to be used with your Portable S tation and a Panasonic KX-TDA series Business T elephone System.

5 Before Operating the PS Setting Up Charging 1 Open the battery cover . 2 Connect the cord and install the battery . 3 Close the cover . • Insert the battery co rd into the groo ve next to the battery to prevent the battery cover from pinching it. 1 Connect the charger to a power outlet using the AC adaptor .

7 Before Operating the PS Power On/Of f Signal Search Y ou can search for the strongest Cell S tation for your PS while it is in standby mode. Locking the Keypads Y ou can lock the dialling buttons while the PS is in idle status. • When the PS i s turned on, it will be in standby mode.
8 Before Operating the PS Display When you receive a message while in standby mode, the PS will alert you by vibrating or ringing, depending on the current setting of the Ringer V olume.
9 Before Operating the PS The icons displayed above each soft button indicate what functions the so ft buttons perform. Functions displa yed depend on the state of use. Press the corresponding sof t button to select a function. <Sof t Key Display> : Displays the menu.

11 Before Operating the PS Key Menu Press to display the key list. The key list ca n be edited to suit your needs. Below is a description of each key and its default key number . • Y ou can change the key menu assignment. (See page 41.) • Y ou can select a key directly by pressing the key number .
12 Before Operating the PS Flexible-CO Key List The F-CO key can be used to seize an idle outside line while making or receiving an outsi de call, or used as a fe ature butt on. Press the F-CO sof t button or select “ F-CO ” from the key menu to display the flexible CO key list.
13 Before Operating the PS Ringer V olume Adjustment While in standby mode or re ceiving a call, press repeatedly . (Default : high) Receiver V olume Adjustment During a conversation or when off-hook, pr ess repeatedly .
