V.E. Ringer off V.E. Recharge 8 Display The handset shows you instructions and information on the display. These display prompts are shown below. “ V.E. ” (Voice Enhancer) on the display means that the V.E. mode is turned on (p. 25). The battery needs to be charged.

10 A handset button was pressed while the handset was on the base unit. Lift the handset and press the button again. When trying to store an item or Caller List information in the directory, the directory memory is full (p. 33, 36). While programming procedure, the handset has lost communication with the base unit.

18 Programmable Functions Ringer Volume You can program the handset ringer volume to HIGH, LOW or OFF. If set to OFF, the handset will not ring. Your phone comes from the factory set to HIGH. Make sure the unit is not being used and the handset is lifted off the base unit.

20 LCD Contrast You can program the handset LCD contrast (5 levels). To make the handset display clearer, set to high level. Your phone comes from the factory set to level 3. Make sure the unit is not being used and the handset is lifted off the base unit.

50 Wall Mounting This unit can be mounted on a wall phone plate. 2 Connect the AC adaptor. 3 Tuck the telephone line cord inside the wall mounting adaptor, then push it in the direction of the arrow. • The word “UP” should face upward. 1 Push the hook and turn it around.

54 Troubleshooting Problem The unit does not work. “ No link to base Place on cradle and try again. ” is displayed and an alarm tone sounds. Static, sound cuts in/out, fades. Interference from other electrical units. The unit does not ring. The handset display is blank.

You charged the battery fully, but “ Recharge ” is still displayed and/or “” continues to fl ash. The IN USE/CHARGE/HOLD indicator light does not go out after the battery has been charged.
