Gett ing star ted 12 Dialling mode If you cannot make calls, change this setting according to your telephone line service. The default setting is “ Tone ” .
Making/Answering Ca lls 13 Making calls Using the base unit = 1 Dial the phone number. L T o corr ect a digit, press ^ . 2 Lift the corded handset. 3 When you finish talking, place the corded handset on the cradle. Note: L Y ou can also dial the phone number after lifting the corded handset.

Making/Answering Calls 16 Handset key lock The handset can be locked so that no calls or settings can be made. Incoming c alls can be answered, but all other functions are disabled while key lock i s on. T o t urn key lock on, press 8 (middle soft key) for about 3 sec onds.

Programming 20 Programmab le settings Y ou can cus tomise the unit by pr ogramming the following f eatures using the base unit or handset. Programming by scrolling through the display menus 1 8 (middle soft key) 2 Pres s {V} or {^} to select the desired main menu.
Programming 21 Handset *1 This feature allows the unit t o automatically adj ust the date and time each time caller inf ormation including date and time is received. T o turn this feature on, s elect “ Caller ID ” . T o turn this feature of f, select “ Manual ” .
Programming 22 *5 Turn this feat ure off if you prefer not to hear key tones while you are dialling or pressing any keys, including confirmation tones and error tones. *6 If you subscribe to a Caller ID service and want t o view the caller’s information after lifti ng up the handset to answer a call, turn off this feature.
Programming 23 Special programming Alarm Y ou can set one of 2 different alarm options (once or daily) at a time for the handset. An alarm sounds at the set time for 3 minut es.
Programming 24 Program this s etting using either the base unit or handset. Import ant : L When the unit receives a call from a num ber that is stored in the call barred list , the call is logged in the caller li st (page 26) with 7 af ter the call is disconnected.
Programming 25 3 {V} / {^} : “ Register H.set ” i M 4 Base unit: Press and hold {x} for about 5 seconds, until the registration tone sounds. L If the registered handset starts ringing, press the same but ton to stop. Then repeat this step. L The next step mu st be completed within 90 seconds.
Caller ID S ervice 26 Using Caller ID servi ce Import ant : L This unit is Caller ID compatible. T o use Call er ID features, you must subsc ribe to a Caller ID service. Contact your service provider / telephone company for details. Caller ID featur es When an outside call is being received, the caller ’s phone number is displayed.
Caller ID S ervice 27 Editing a caller ’ s phone number before calling back 1 (right soft key) 2 {V} / {^} : Select the d esired entry . L If the other party’s name is displayed on the screen, you can switch the scr een between the name and its phone number by press ing 9 repeatedly .
V oice M ail Servic e 28 V oic e mail service V oice mail is an automa tic answering service offered by your se rvice provider/telephone company . A fter you subscribe to this service, your service provider/telephone company’s voice mail system answers calls for you when you are unavailable to answer the phone or when your line is busy .
Intercom/Locator 29 Intercom Intercom calls can be made between the base unit and handset. Note: L If you receive an outside call while talking on the intercom, you hea r interrupt tones. – T o answer the call with the base unit, place the corded handset on the cradle, then lift it again.
Intercom/Locator 30 1 During an outside call, press 4 to put the call on hold. L k flashes to indicate the outside call is on hold. 2 T o p age the base unit, press { 0 } . 3 Wai t for the paged party to answer . L If the paged p arty does not answer , press 4 to return to the out side call.
Useful Information 31 Character entry The dial keys are used t o enter c haracters and numbers. Each dial key has multiple charac ters assigned to it. The chara cters that can be enter ed depend on the character entry mode (page 31). – Base unit: Press { < } or { > } to move the cursor lef t or right.
