- 3 - 1. Oven m ust be placed on a flat, stable surf ace. F or proper operation, the ov en must ha ve sufficient air flow to the air v ents i.e. 5 cm (2 inches) at the side and rear ; 20 cm (8 inches) at the top . 2. Do not place the microw av e ov en on a shelf directly abov e a gas or electric hob.
- 4 - Short Cooking Times As microw av e cooking times are much shor ter than other cooking methods it is essential that recommended cooking times are not e xceeded without first checking the f ood.
Impor tant Saf ety Instructions –– Read Carefully - 5 - 11. Reheating It is essential that reheated f ood is ser ved “piping hot”. Remove the f ood from the ov en and check that it is “piping hot”, i.e. steam is being emitted from all par ts and any sauce is bub bling.

- 14 - Ho w to Operate NE - 2156/NE - 1856/NE - 1456 F . BEEP T ONE The loudness of beep tone and the length of beep tone at the end of heating cycle can be set. There are f our lev els of the loudness. The lev el is indicated by a n umber follo wed by the w ord “bEEP”.

- 17 - Installation Instructions f or Stac king IMPOR T ANT 1. Disconnect or unplug all units from the wall soc ket bef ore attempting to stack. 2. F or stacking installation, y ou must use the P ANASONIC Joining Plate which is enclosed with this unit.
- 18 - Care of Y our Micr o wave Oven 1. Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply bef ore cleaning. 2. K eep the inside of the ov en clean. If pieces of food or spilled liquids stick to the o ven w alls, or between door seal and door surf ace, they will absorb microw av es and may cause arcing or sparks.
- 19 - Cooking Instructions COOKW ARE 1. Heat-proof glass ware, such as Pyrocer am and Pyre x, is best suited for use in the micro wav e oven. 2. Do not use metal ware , ceramics trimmed with gold or silver , or any container with a metal content. 3. If “arcing” should occur , check the cookware carefully again f or metal.

TEMPERA TURE OF FOODS –– Froz en or refrigerated food items will require longer heating times to reach a desired ser ving temperature than f oods from room temperature.
- 21 - Cooking/Defr osting Guide The times given in the chart below are a guideline only . Many f actors eg starting temperature of the f ood can aff ect the final heating time required. The cooking and defrosting times must be adjusted when necessary .
