3 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS W arning Handling the mains plug and lead • Insert the mains plug fully in to the socket outlet. (If the mains plug is loose, it could generate hea t and cause fire.) • Ensure that the mains plug is easily accessible . • Do not touch the mains plug with a wet hand.
4 Caution When cleaning the T V remov e the mains plug • Cleaning an energised T V may cause electrical shock. Remove the mains plug fr om the wall socket when T V is not in use for a prolonged period of time • The T V will still consume some power even in the off mode, as long as the mains plug is still connected.
5 Notice for D VB func tions This T V is designed to meet the standards (as of August, 2010) of DVB- T (MPEG2 and MPEG4-A VC(H.264)) digital terrestrial services and DVB- C (MPEG2 and MPEG4-A VC(H.264)) digital cable services. 7 Installing Pedestal (TX-L42U5E) 1. Place the L CD T V screen facing down on a fla t surface place where maintained with soft materials (such as a blanket) for protecting the display screen. 2. Use four assembly screws to fasten the neck t o the base securely .

11 AC P ower C ord Connection This L CD TV uses nominal input voltages of 220-240V AC. It is designed to work with single-phase power systems. T o reduce risk of electrical shock, do not plug into any other type of power system. C onsult your authorised dealer or service station if you are not sure the type of pow er being supplied.
