3. Using the Web Interface 3-20 January 2005 6381-A2-GB23-10 192.168.1.25 4. If the DHCP ser v er runs out of DHCP a ddresses, users will not get access to network resources. — Specify a Lease Time. The Lease Time is the amount of time a ne twork user will be allowed connection to the Router with their current dynamic IP address.

For basic router funct ionality , you do not need to utilize these adv anced feat ures . The f eatures help with routing, security , por t configuration, and plug and play capability .
3. Using the Web Interface 6381-A2-GB23-10 January 2005 3-23 SNTP The SNTP screen lets y ou specify parameters related to SNTP (Simple Netw ork Time Protoc ol) ser vers. T o use SNTP: Procedur e 1. F rom the Home screen, clic k on Adv anced and under Adv anced, select SNTP .

The SNMP feature gen erates a trap when e ver the IP address o f the ro uter changes (e xcept through the T roub leshooting Managem ent Link).
3. Using the Web Interface 6381-A2-GB23-10 January 2005 3-25 IP QoS The IP QoS screen lets y ou establish a pa r ticular lev el of serv ice f or each connection y ou ha ve de fined. T o set QoS f or a connection: Procedur e 1. F rom the Home screen, click on Advanced and under Adv anced, select IP QoS.

LAN Isolation Bridge Filters The bridge filtering mechanism provides a wa y f or the users to define rules to allow or den y frames th rough the bridge based on source MA C address, destination MA C address and/or fra me type.

When IGMP Snooping is en abled, t he router analyz es Internet Group Management Proto col (IGMP) pac ke ts to learn multicast group a ddress and por t associations.

If R IP v1 is se lected, routing data will be sent in RIP v1 f or mat. If Rip V2 is selected, routi ng data will be sent in RIP v2 f ormat us ing subnet broadcasting.
