Introduction 2 Intr oduction The new Pepper wir eless pad is a portable device that you can use to connect to the Inter net anywher e a W i-Fi ® network with br oadband access is available.
Introduction 3 Because everything is stor ed on the Pepper pad, you can also use your pad of fline to write e-mail to send later , to listen to music you have downloaded, and to view clippings fr om Web pages.

Setting up your Pepper wir eless pad Setting up your Pepper wireless pad 5 The first time you turn on your Pepper pad, the Pepper Setup Helper guides you through the few steps necessary to get your pad ready to use.
Setting up your Pepper wireless pad 6 Using the power button The power button is on the top right of the Pepper pad. When your pad is on, this button is lit. Y ou always use this button to tur n the pad on. Y ou can also use this button to put the pad to sleep or to tur n it off completely .

Using the keypads The Pepper pad uses the standard QWERTY arrangement with the keys split between the left and right keypads. Sharing from your pad The Share button gives you a great way to share what you cr eate on your Pepper pad with other Pepper pad and Pepper Desktop users. For example, you might create a journal about your vacation in a foreign country , add images from the Web, and shar e your jour nal with friends.

Using the Pepper pad software 19 If your Pepper pad won’t turn on If you can’t turn your Pepper pad on, first make sure that the battery is char ged or that the pad is plugged in. If you still can’t turn it on and the pad has been at a cold temperature (below 40° F or 5° C), let it warm up and try turning it on again.
