2 INST ALLA TION Bef or e installing, check with y our ser vice pro vider to ensure that y ou hav e subscribed to Caller ID with Call W aiting (combined ser vice), and voice mail service (if y ou intend to use the visual message waiting f eature in this phone).
3 INST ALLA TION 4 Connect the handset. Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the jack labeled HANDSET on the back of the telephone. Plug the other end of the coiled cord into the handset, then hang up. 5 Connect the power adapter . Connect the power adapter to the jac k on the back of the base.
4 8 Select Display Language. Press N . The screen displa ys WHICH LANGUAGE? . Press + until the screen displa ys your selected languag e. Press N f or 1.5 seconds to save the selected displa y langua ge. NOTE: T o change the displa y language at a later date, see “Setting Display Options” in the CALLER ID OPERA TION section of this manual.
5 TELEPHONE OPERA TION V olume Control T o adjust the listening level in the handset, set the volume control on the left side of the handset. T emporary T one Dialing If you have dial pulse (rotary) service, you can change from dial pulse to touch tone dialing during a call by pr essing * .
6 TELEPHONE OPERA TION Flash Use F instead of the switchhook to activate telephone company subscriber services such as Call W aiting or 3-W ay Calling. Ne w Call/Message W aiting Light This light stays on when you have unr eviewed call infor mation in the call history.
7 TELEPHONE MEMOR Y Dialing Numbers in T elephone Memory For two touch dialing, lift the handset and pr ess m and the number button (0-9) wher e the memory number is stor ed. Storing Numbers in T elephone Memory 1 Pr ess and release P . 2 Enter the telephone number (up to 32 digits).
8 C ALLER ID OPERA TION Remove a call from call history Customize featur es Dial number displayed on scr een Indicates repeat caller Caller’s telephone number Caller’s name Date call was r eceived When on steadily, indicates phone on this line is in use.
9 About Caller Identification This telephone is designed to store and displa y information about incoming calls. It must be used with Caller Identification ser vice provided by your local telephone company; there is a f ee for this ser vice, and it may not be available in all areas.
10 Remo ving All Calls from Call History 1 Press C to enter the call history . 2 Press and release r f or 1.5 seconds when no call is displayed. The screen displa ys REMOVE ALL CALLS? . 3 Pr ess and release r f or 1.5 seconds again to remove all calls.
11 Pro gramming Ar ea Codes In addition to progr amming your home ar ea code (see Step 9 in INST ALLA TION), you can pr ogr am up to four other local ar ea codes.
12 Option: Choice: W HICH L ANGU AGE Choose whether the display appears in English, ENGLISH Spanish or Frenc h. Use + or - to toggle between SPANISH language selections. FRENCH S TORE H OME A REA C ODE HOME AREA CODE? Set the unit to recognize calls from y our area code.

14 RADIO/ALARM OPERA TION Set separate alar ms Silence alar m for about 10 minutes Select AM or FM Curr ent radio station Set radio to automatically tur n off Tur n radio on or off Search for next cle.
15 T ur ning Radio On/Off Press I to turn the radio on or off. When you turn the radio on, the screen displa ys the currently selected station, band, and MHz or KHz.
16 RADIO/ALARM OPERA TION Setting Alarm Time Y ou can set the alar m ( ALARM A ) or ( ALARM B ) to wake you with the radio or the buzzer . NOTE: T o set the clock, see the INST ALLA TION section of this manual. 1 Pr ess and hold d f or a bout one second.
