Befor e Y ou Install 1 Choose a location for the base near an electrical outlet and a telephone jack. This phone requires a modular telephone jac k and a standard electrical outlet (110v A C) not controlled by a wall switc h. 2 Install the handset battery.

INST ALLA TION 5 4 Charge the handset battery. Place the handset in the base. Charg e the batter y for at least 24 hours the first time. After the first charg e, the batter y is typically fully charg ed overnight. 5 Check for dial tone. After the batteries are charg ed, pick up the handset and press P ; you should hear a dial tone.
HEADLINE LEFT HEADLINE L-SUB 6 INST ALLA TION W all Installa tion 1 Position the wall mount adapter on the base. 2 Connect the telephone line cord. 3 Connect the power cord. Align tabs on wall mount adapter with holes on bottom of base. Snap wall mount adapter firmly into place.

For more detailed computer hookup up see pages 4 and 5. a) Align holes on base with mounting studs on wall jack. b) Place power cord as shown, so it hangs straight down between base and wall.

Making Internet Calls • Follow y our inter net calling provider’ s directions to establish a call. Then press to connect the call to your handset. • If you receiv e a regular call while you’ re on an internet call, press p to take the call. Press to return to your internet call.
Headset Jack Y ou can use this telephone hands-free when you install a 2.5 mm headset (SKU 24099), purc hased separately . Plug the headset into the jack located on the right side of the handset (under the small rubber f lap). Do not force the connection, but make sure the plug fits securely .

13 BA TTERIES Charging the Handset Ba tter y Pack This batter y should remain charg ed up to six days with the ring er tur ned on and up to 12 days with the ring er of f. A fully charg ed batter y provides an averag e talk time of about six hour s. The batter y pack needs c harging when: • A new batter y is installed in the handset.
Replacing the Handset Battery Pack 1 Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset by pressing on the indentation and sliding the cov er downward. 2 Lift out the old battery pack and disconnect. 3 Align the two holes in the new battery pack’s plug with the socket pins, and snap the plug into place.

If y ou hear noise or interference when using the phone: • Make sure the base antenna is fully upright. • Y ou ma y be out of range. Move closer to the base. • Press and release C to c hange to another of the 30 channels available. If noise is exceptionally loud, move closer to the base bef ore changing c hannels.
