6 7 T o replace a handset I f y o u a re re p l a c i n g a h a n d s e t o n a s y s t e m t h a t h a s t h e maximum number of registered handsets (eight) or wish t o c h a n g e t h e a s s i g n .

8 9 Plug 2.5 mm headset into jack on side of handset (beneath small rubber cap). FLASH CANCEL Snap belt clip into notches on side of handset. Rotate and pull to remove.

10 11 The battery does not charge in the handset or the handset battery does not accept charge. • Make sure the handset is placed in the char - ger correctly .
12 13 In case of difficulty • First, try all the above suggestions. • Move the cordless handset closer to the tele- phone base. It might be out of range. • The telephone line cord might be malfunction- ing. T ry installing a new telephone line cord.

14 15 There is noise or interference during a telephone conversation. My calls fade out or cut in and out when I am using the cordless handset. • The handset may be out of range. Move it closer to the telephone base. • Appliances or other cordless telephones plugged into the same circuit as the telephone base can cause interference.
14 15 In case of difficulty I hear other calls when using the telephone. • Disconnect the telephone base from the tele- phone jack. Plug in a differ ent telephone. If you still hear other calls, the problem is pr ob- ably in the wiring or local service.
16 17 The answering system does not answer after the correct number of rings. • Make sure the answering system is on. When the answering system is on, the red light on the ANSWER ON/OFF key should be lit. • If T oll Saver is activated, the number of rings changes to two when there ar e new messages waiting.
16 17 In case of difficulty The messages on the answering system are incomplete. • If a caller leaves a very long message, part of it may be lost when the system disconnects the call after four minutes. • If the caller pauses for more than 7 seconds, the system stops recor ding and disconnects the call.
