T o activate hot keys, press and hold th e Fn key be fore pressing the other key i n the hot key combination .
17 English Fn-F 5 Dis play T oggle Switch es displ ay outp ut between the display screen, external monitor (if connec ted) an d both the display screen and external monitor . Fn-F6 Screen Blank T urns the display screen backli ght off to save power . Press any key to return.
1 Getting to know your T ravelMate 18 English The Euro symbo l If your key board layout is set to Un ited St ates-Inter national o r United Kingdom or if y ou have a keyboard with a Europea n layout, yo u can type the Eu ro symbol on y our keyboard. Note for US key boar d users: The keyboard l ayout is set when you first set up W indows.
19 English Launch Keys Located at the top of the keyboard are six buttons. These buttons are called launc h keys. They are designated as Wireless, Bl uetooth button, W eb browser button, mail button, P1 and P2. The Wireless and Bluetooth button s cannot be set by th e user .
1 Getting to know your T ravelMate 20 English T ouchp ad The built-in touchpad is a PS/2-compatib le pointing dev ice that senses movement on its surface. This m eans the cursor responds as you move your finger on the surface of the touchpad. The central location on the palmrest pro vides optimum co mfort and support.
21 English buttons are similar to the left and right buttons on a mouse. T apping on the touchp ad produces simila r results. • Use the 4-way scrol l (#2) button to scroll up or down and move left or right a page. This bu tton mimics y our cursor pressing on the right scroll bar of Wind ows appl ications.

23 English Playing DVD movies When the DVD driv e module is i nstalled in the o ptical drive bay , you can play DVD m ovies on yo ur computer . 1 Eject the DVD tray and insert a DVD m ovie disc; then close the DVD tray . Impo rtant ! When you launch the DVD p layer for the first time, the pro gram ask s you t o input the r egion code.
