10 ENGLISH PREP ARING FOR USE Machine Packaging The original packaging has been designed and constructed to protect the machine during transport. W e recommend keeping the pack aging mat erial for possible future transport. Machine Installation 1 Remove the machine from the packaging .
11 ENGLISH 11 8 Slowly pour the co ee beans into the co ee bean hopper . Note: Do not pour too many co ee beans into the co ee bean hopper as this will reduce the grinding performance of the machine. Caution: Only co ee beans must be put into the co ee bean hopper .
12 ENGLISH 12 Switch the pow er button to “I” to turn on the machine. The “ ” button ashes. 13 T o turn on the machine simply press the “ ” button. USING THE MACHINE FOR THE FIRST TIME When using the machine for the rst time, the following activities need to happen: 1) Y ou need to prime the circuit.
13 ENGLISH 13 3 The machine warms up and the “ ” and “ ” buttons ash simultane - ously . Automatic rinse/self-cleaning cycle When warm-up is complete, the machine aut omatically per forms a rinse/ self-cleaning c ycle of the internal cir cuit with fresh water .
14 ENGLISH “INTENZA+” water lter installation W e recommend you to install the “INTENZA+” water lter as this prevents limescale build-up in your machine and preserves a more intense ar oma of your co ee . The “INTENZA+” water lter can be purchased separately .
15 ENGLISH 15 4 Put the “INTENZA+” water lter into the empty water tank. Press it down until it cannot move an y further . 5 Fill the wat er tank with fresh water and reinsert it into the machine. 6 Brew 2 co ees to properly prime the circuit.
16 ENGLISH Adjusting the C o ee Grinder . ‘Y ou can adjust the grinder to set the co ee grinding to your personal taste. ’ W arning: The co ee grinder contains moving parts that may be dangerous . Do not insert ngers or other objec ts.
17 ENGLISH 17 Adjusting the Dispensing Spout The height of the dispensing spout can be adjusted to better t the dimensions of the cups that you wish to use. Move the dispensing spout up or down with your ngers to adjust its height as shown in the image.
18 ENGLISH Adjusting the co ee length The machine allows y ou to adjust the amount of brewed co ee according to your taste and the size of y our cups. Each time the “ ” or “ ” button is pressed, the machine brew s a pre-set amount of co ee.
19 ENGLISH 19 ESPRESSO AND C OFFEE BREWING Before br ewing co ee, make sure that there are no warnings sho wn on the control panel, and that the wat er tank and co ee bean hopper are lled. 3 Press the “ ” button for an espresso or “ ” button for a co ee.
20 ENGLISH CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Daily cleaning of the machine Caution: Timely cleaning and maintenanc e of your machine is v ery impor tant as it prolongs the life of y our machine.
21 ENGLISH 21 2 1 4 Inser t the co ee grounds draw er back into the drip tray and this into the machine. Daily cleaning of the water tank 1 Remove the small white lter or the “INTENZA+” water lter (if in- stalled) from the water tank and wash it with fresh wat er .
22 ENGLISH W eek ly cleaning of the machine 1 Clean the seat of the drip tray . W eek ly cleaning of the brew gr oup The brew gr oup should be cleaned every time the co ee bean hopper is lled or at least once a week. 1 T urn o the machine by pressing the “ ” button and unplug the power cor d.
23 ENGLISH 23 5 Thoroughly wash the brew g roup with fresh, lukewarm water and car e - fully clean the upper lter . Caution: Do not use detergent or soap to clean the brew gr oup . 6 Let the brew g roup air-dr y thoroughly . 7 Thoroughly clean the inside of the machine using a soft, dampened cloth.
24 ENGLISH 10 Make sure the hook to lock the brew gr oup is in the correct position by rmly pressing the “PUSH” button until it locks into place. Check if the hook is at the top end position. If it is not, please try again. 12 Inser t the brew g roup in its seat again until it locks into place without pressing the “PUSH” button.
25 ENGLISH 25 Monthly lubrication of the bre w group Lubricate the br ew group after appro ximately 500 cups of co ee or once a month. The grease to lubricat e the brew group can be pur chased separately . F or further details, please refer to the maintenance pr oducts page in this manual.
26 ENGLISH 3 Inser t the brew g roup in its seat until it locks into place (see “ W eek ly Cleaning of the Brew Group ” chapter). 4 Close the service door and inser t the drip tray and co ee grounds drawer .
27 ENGLISH 27 DESCALING The descaling process takes appr ox. 35 minutes. Limescale builds up inside the machine during use. It needs to be remov ed regularly as it may clog the water and co ee circuit of your machine . The machine tells you when descaling is needed.
28 ENGLISH 2 Remove the water tank. 3 Remove the “INTENZA+” water lter from the water tank if it was installed and replace it with the small white original one . 4 Pour the entir e content of the descaling solution into the water tank and ll it with fresh water up to the calc clean lev el.
29 ENGLISH 29 8 The machine is dispensing now the descaling solution at intervals. This takes approx. 25 min. During this period the “ ” light turns on. Note: The descaling cycle may be paused by pressing the “ ” button. T o resume the cycle press the “ ” button again.
30 ENGLISH 14 Place the water tank back into the machine. The “ ” lights turns on. 15 When the “ ” button ashes, press it to start the rinse c ycle . Note: The descaling cycle may be paused by pressing the “ ” button. T o resume the cycle press the “ ” button again.
31 ENGLISH 31 20 Remove and empty the container . 21 Empty the drip tray and place it back. 22 The descaling cycle is now complete . 23 Remove the small white water lter and place back the “INTENZA+” water lter (if installed) to the water tank.
32 ENGLISH W ARNING SIGNALS W arning signals Flashing This means that the machine is warming up or performing a rinse cycle. Flashing The machine is priming the circuit. Steady on The machine is ready to br ew products. Slowly ashing The machine is brewing one cup of espresso .
33 ENGLISH 33 W arning signals Quickly double ashing The machine is brewing two cups of co ee. Quickly ashing The machine is programming the amount of espr esso to be brewed . Quickly ashing The machine is programming the amount of co ee to be brewed .
34 ENGLISH W arning signals Slowly ashing Inser t the brew g roup properly Steady on Empty the co ee grounds drawer . Flashing The co ee grounds drawer is not inserted in the machine. Y ou can only put it back after the machine has reset itself .
