Inserting an SD memory card % Insert an SD memory card into the SD card slot. Insert it with the contact sur face facing to the left and press the card until it clicks and com- pletely locks. p This system is not compatible with Multi Media Card (MMC).
Connecting and disconnecting an iPod CAUTION ! T o prevent data loss and damage to the sto- rage device, never remove it from this naviga- tion system while data is being transferred. ! If data loss or corruption occurs on the sto- rage device for any reason, it is usually not possible to recover the data.

What you can do on each menu 1 T op Menu P ress the MENU button to display the “ To p Menu ” . This is the starting menu to access the desired screens and operate the various functions. 2 Destination Menu Y ou can search for your destination on this menu.
How to use the map Most of the information provided by your navigation system can be seen on the map. Y ou need to be- come familiar with how information appears on the map. How to read the map screen This example shows an example of a 2D map screen .
This key will be displayed while you activate the dummy run ( “ Fly over ” or “ Demo Mode ” ). T ouch the key to cancel the dummy run. = F or details, refer to Demo Mode on page 150. = F or details, refer to Playing simulated tra- vel at high speed on page 60.
p This information is based on the map data- base. Thus, the information may differ from actual conditions. Use it as just a direc- tional reference for your driving.
2 Move MUL TI-CONTROL down or up to zoom in or out. Moving MUL TI-CONTROL upward or down- ward once allows you to change the map scale one step at a time. Holding MUL TI-CON- TROL while moving it up or down allows you to change the scale sequentially.
3 T ouch anywhere on the map briefly to show the tilt controls and rotation angle. Controls for tilt and rotation angle p T ouching hides the tilt controls and rota- tion angle. 4 T ouch the controls to adjust the tilt and rotation angle. The basic flow of creating your route 1 P ark your vehicle in a safe place, and apply the parking brake.
2 Current page/total pages 3 Returns the previous screen. 4 T ouching or on the scroll bar scrolls through the list and allows you to view the re- maining items. 5 Listed items T ouching an item on the list allows you to nar- row down the options and proceed to the next operation.
CAUTION For safety reasons, these route-setting functions are not available while your vehicle is in motion. T o enable these functions, you must stop in a safe place and put on the parking brake before setting your route. p Some information regarding traffic regula- tions depends on the time when the route calculation is per formed.
5 T ouch the key next to “ State: ” and touch the desired state, province, or terri- tory on the list. The screen returns to the previous screen. 6 T ouch the key next to “ City: ” to enter the city name. 7 Enter the city name or Zip code. ! When the options are narrowed down to six or less, those are automatically listed.
11 T ouch one of the options at the bottom of the “ Map Confirmation Screen ” to select the next operation. T ouch [ Route... ] then [ Go Here Now ] to set your selected position as your destination and calculate the route up that point.
5 T ouch the POI you want. ! T ouching the [ Name ] tab sorts the options in the list in alphabetical order . ! T ouching the [ Distance ] tab sorts the op- tions in the list in order by distance. p Icons are helpful for quickly telling the cate- gory of facilities with the same name.
3 Enter the address you want. = For details, refer to Searching for a location by address on page 42. 4 T ouch the category you want. = For the subsequent operations, refer to Searching for POIs around the cursor on page 44.
! T ouching [ Save Criteria ] without selecting a category allows you to store only your se- lected search method including all cate- gories. ! If there aren ’ t any more detailed categories, a blank list appears. In that case, touching [ Save Criteria ] allows you to store it as the currently selected category.
3 T ouch [Delete] on the right of the item that you want to delete. Searching for POIs by using the data on external storage devices (USB, SD) Creating a customized POI is possible by using the utility program “ AVIC FEEDS ” which is available separately , on your PC.
Searching for a location by coordinates Entering a latitude and longitude pinpoints the location. 1 T ouch [Destination] on the “ T op Menu ” , and then touch [Route Function]. 2 T ouch [Coordinate]. 3 T ouch either the latitude key or the longitude key , whichever you want to enter .
T ouch [ Route... ] then [ Go Here Now ] to set your selected position as your destination and calculate the route up that point. = For details of other operations on the “ Map Confirmation Screen ” , refer to What you can do with the “ Map Confirmation Screen ” on page 54.
2 T ouch the entry you want. 3 T ouch one of the options at the bottom of the “ Map Confirmation Screen ” to select the next operation. T ouch [ Route... ] then [ Go Here Now ] to set your selected position as your destination and calculate the route up that point.

Searching for a location by scrolling the map Specifying a location af ter scrolling the map enables you to set the position as an operable target in the “ Map Confirmation Screen ” .

What you can do with the “ Map Confirmation Screen ” Under most conditions after searching for a location, the “ Map Confirm ation Screen ” appears, so you can select the next operation. The options shown below are available on this screen: Map Shows a full-screen 2D map centered on the cursor position.

2 T ouch [Starting Point]. p When the cursor overlaps with a starting point already set, it changes to [ Remove Start ]. All waypoints already set are deleted.
1 Search for a location or position the cursor on the desired area by scrolling the map and displaying the “ Map Confirmation Screen ” . 2 T ouch [Save as...] on the “ Map Confirmation Screen ” . 3 T ouch [Add Pin]. The pin icon is placed on the map and the screen returns to the map screen.
Storing the location in “ Favorites ” Storing your favorite locations as “ Favorites ” provides you with the opportunity to save the time and effort of re-entering this information. Stored items can be made available on “ Fa- vorites ” later .
Checking the current route conditions The “ Route Information ” screen provides you with various detailed information about the current route. This is an example showing a route with two waypoints. p This function is available only when the route is set and your vehicle position is on the route.
3 T ouch [Dest.] to switch to the first way- point screen. The “ Route Information (to via) ” screen ap- pears. 4 T ouch [Via] to switch to the second waypoint screen. The “ Route Information (to via) ” screen for next waypoint appears. 5 T ouch [Via] to return to the screen for whole route.
Alternative options: ! Detailed Instructions All turning points, passed streets and other information is shown. ! Instructions All turning points (where voice guidance is given) are shown. ! Road List Displays the turning points in the most sim- plified form (duplicated route names are merged into one).
Editing waypoints Y ou can edit waypoints (locations you want to visit on the way to your destination) and recal- culate the route so that is passes through these locations. Adding a waypoint 1 Search for a location. = For more details, refer to the descriptions from page 42 to page 52.
3 Enter the name and then touch [Done] to complete the entry . The previous screen appears. p Saved route can be recalled later . = For details, refer to Setting a route by recal- ling a saved route on page 51. If you have an active subscription to MSN Direct ser vice, you can check and browse various information on your navigation system, such as gas prices, movie times, weather conditions and traffic information. The information will be updated periodically.

Browsing weather information Local weather information can be displayed on a list. Switching the screen allows you to see worldwide weather conditions. Although the MSN Direct ser vice regularly up- dates weather information, the information provided may not necessarily correspond to ac- tual weather conditions.

Hands-free phoning overview CAUTION For your safety , avoid talking on the phone as much as possible while driving. If your cellular phone features Bluetooth ® technology , this navigation system can be con- nected to your cellular phone wirelessly .
Searching for nearby phones The system searches for available cellular phones near the navigation system, displays them in a list, and registers them for connec- tion. 1 Activate the Bluetooth wireless tech- nology on your cellular phone. F or some cellular phones, no specific action is necessar y to activate Bluetooth wireless tech- nology .
5 T ouch the model name of the cellular phone to be connected. The system searches for cellular phones fea- turing Bluetooth technology that are waiting for the connection and displays them in the list if the device has found.
Connecting a registered cellular phone The navigation system automatically connects the cellular phone selected as the target of connection. However , connect the cellular phone manually in the following cases: ! T wo or more cellular phones are registered, and you want to manually select the cellu- lar phone to be used.
Receiving a phone call Y ou can per form hands-free answering by using the navigation system. Answering an incoming call The system informs you that it is receiving a call by displaying a message and producing a ring sound. If [ Auto Answer Preference ] is set to [ Off ], answer the call manually.
Direct dialing 1 T ouch [Dial Pad] on the “ Phone Menu ” . = For details, refer to Displaying the Phone Menu on page 73. The direct dial screen appears. 2 T ouch the number keys to enter the phone number . The phone number that was input is dis- played.
2 If you touch an entry on the list, dialing starts. p If you touch [ Detail ], you can check the de- tails of the party before making a phone call. p T o cancel the call after the system starts dialing, touch .
p If you have not registered your home num- ber , a message appears. T ouch [ Ye s ]t o start registration. = For more details about “ Set Home ” , refer to Setting your home position on page 155. Dialing GOOG-411 CAUTION Local and/or long distance charges for making a phone call may apply .
p Depending on the cellular phone that is connected to this navigation system via Bluetooth technology , this navigation sys- tem may not be able to display the phone book correctly . (Some characters may be garbled.) p If the phone book in the cellular phone con- tains image data, the phone book may not be correctly transferred.
3 T ouch [OK]. Data on the selected item is cleared from this navigation system ’ s memor y . p If you do not want to clear memor y that you have selected, touch [ Cancel ]. Setting the phone Setting the phone volume The volume level for hands-free phoning can be adjusted.
[ After 6 seconds ]: Answers after six seconds [ After 10 seconds ]: Answers after ten sec- onds Setting the automatic rejection function If this function is on, the navigation system automatically rejects all incoming calls. 1 T ouch [Phone Settings] on the “ Phone Menu ” .
p Up to 30 characters can be entered for a de- vice name. Notes for hands-free phoning General notes ! Connection to all cellular phones featuring Bluetooth wireless technology is not guar- anteed.
! With some cellular phones, it may not be possible to transfer all items in the phone book at one time. In this case, transfer items one by one from your cellular phone. ! Depending on the cellular phone, this navi- gation system may not display the phone book correctly .
Y ou can play a normal music CD using the built-in drive of the navigation system. This section describes how . 1 Insert the disc you want to play into disc-loading slot. Playback starts from the first track of the CD. 2 T ouch [DISC] on the “ A V Source ” menu to display the “ CD ” screen.
Selecting a track from the list The list lets you see the list of track titles, file names or folder names on a disc and select one of them to play . 1 T ouch [List]. 2 T ouch the track you want to play . The track currently playing is highlighted. T ouching or switches the selection to the next or previous page in the list.
Y ou can play a disc that contains compressed audio files using the built-in drive of the navi- gation system. This section describes these operations. p In the following description, the MP3, WMA, AAC, WA V files are collectively re- ferred to as “ Compressed audio file ” .
= F or details, refer to Recalling equalizer cur ves on page 161. 3 Display the “ Function ” menu = F or details, refer to Using the “ Function ” menu on the next page. 4 Select the previous or next folder p T ouching these keys enables you to se- lect the previous or next folder and play- back the first track on the folder .
p For W AV files, only the information marked with (*) can be displayed. p If you operate no functions for about 30 sec- onds, the display automatically returns to the ordinary display. Using the “ Function ” menu 1 T ouch [DISC] on the “ A V Source ” menu to display the “ ROM ” screen.

= F or details, refer to Using the “ Function ” menu on page 94. 3 Display the DVD menu Y ou can display the menu by touching [ Menu ] or [ TOP M. ] while a disc is playing. T ouching either of these keys again lets you start play- back from the location selected from the menu.
Resuming playback (Bookmark) The Bookmark function lets you resume play- back from a selected scene the next time the disc is loaded. T ouching [ B.Mark ]: Y ou can bookmark one point for each of up to five discs. If you tr y to memorize another point for the same disc, the oldest bookmark will be overwritten by the newest one.
3 T ouch the desired menu item. Using DVD menu by touch panel keys If items on the DVD menu appear at the bot- tom of the screen, the touch panel keys may overlay them. If so, select an item using those touch panel keys. 1 T ouch [ a ], [ b ], [ c ]o r[ d ] to select the desired menu item.
When playing DVDs recorded with LPCM audio, you can switch the audio output. T ouch [ L/R Select ] repeatedly until the de- sired audio output appears in the display.
Y ou can play a DVD-VR (DVD Video Recording F ormat) disc using the built-in drive of the na- vigation system. This section describes opera- tions for DVD-VR discs. p AVIC -X7115BT cannot play DVD - VR discs. Reading the screen 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 2 1 Source icon Shows which source has been selected.
p Moving MUL TI-CONTROL left or right enables you to per form the equivalent operations. 6 Playback and Pause T ouching [ f ] switches between “ playback ” and “ pause ” .
! T o select 71 minutes 00 seconds, touch [ 7 ], [ 1 ], [ 0 ], [ 0 ] and [ Enter ] in order . p T o cancel the input numbers, touch [ Clear ]. Switch the playback mode Y ou have two methods for playing DVD - VR discs; Original (original) and Playlist (play- list).
Using the “ Function ” menu 1 T ouch [DISC] on the “ A V Source ” menu to display the “ DVD-VR ” screen. = For details concerning operations, refer to Screen switching over view on page 34. 2 T ouch the screen to display the touch panel keys.
Y ou can play a DivX disc using the built-in drive of the navigation system. This section de- scribes that operations. p AVIC -X7115BT cannot play DivX files. T o select 10, touch [ 1 ] and [ 0 ] and [ Enter ]i n order . For time (time search) ! T o select 5 minutes 03 seconds, touch [ 5 ], [ 0 ], [ 3 ] and [ Enter ] in order .
Configure the DVD-V ideo/DVD - VR/DivX player . Displaying DVD Setup menu 1 Play the disc that contains DVD-Video, DVD-VR or DivX. 2 T ouch [DISC] on the “ A V Source ” menu to display the normal playback screen. = For details concerning operations, refer to Screen switching over view on page 34.
Setting the angle icon display Y ou can set the angle icon to display in scenes where the angle can be switched. 1 T ouch [DVD Setup] on the “ Function ” menu. = For details, refer to Displaying DVD Setup menu on the previous page. 2 T ouch [Multi Angle].
p The parental lock level is recorded on the disc. Y ou can confirm it by looking at the disc package, the included literature or the disc itself . Y ou cannot use parental lock with discs that do not feature a recorded parental lock level. p With some discs, parental lock operates to skip certain scenes only , af ter which normal playback resumes.

The speed limit is based on the map data- base. The speed limit in the database may not match the actual speed limit of the cur- rent road. This is not a definite value. Be sure to drive according to the actual speed limit. ! “ Speeding T olerance ” Sets the tolerance for the speed limit with a percentage.
! “ Keys ” [ On ]: Sounds a beep. [ Off ]: Does not sound a beep. ! “ Dynamic V olume ” Increases and decreases the master vo- lume of the navigation guidance and beep automatically according to the current speed.

Setting the anti-theft function Y ou can set a password for the navigation sys- tem. If the back-up lead is cut or the RESET button is pressed after the password is set, the navigation system prompts for the password at the time of next boot up. Returning the navigation system to the default or factory settings Y ou can return settings or recorded content to the default or factor y settings. There are three methods to clear user data, and the situations and the cleared content are different for each method.

T roubleshooting If you have problems operating your navigation system, refer to this section. The most common problems are listed below , along with likely causes and solutions. While this list is not comprehen- sive, it should answer your most common problems.
Y ou cannot positio n your vehicle on the map without a significant positioning error . The navigation system may not be mounted securely in your vehicle. Check that the navigation system is securely mounted and, if necessar y, consult the dealer that installed the system.
Nothing is displayed and the touch panel keys cannot be used. The setting for the rear view came ra is incorrect. Select the appropriate setting for the rear view camera.
The icon 9 is displayed, and op- eration is not possible. The operation is not compatible with the video configuration. This operation is not possible. (For example, the DVD playing does not feature that angle, audio system, subtitle language, etc.) The picture stops (pauses) and the navigation system cannot be operated.
If the screen becomes frozen... P ark your vehicle in a safe place, and turn off the engine. T urn the ignition key back to “ Acc off ” . Then start the engine again, and turn the power to the navigation system back on. If this does not solve the problem, press the RESET button on the navigation system.
Messages and how to react to them The following messages may be displayed by your navigation system. Refer to the table below to identify the problem, then take the suggested corrective action. There are occasions when you may see error messages other than those shown here.
Messages for audio functions When problems occur with AV source playback, an error message appears on the display . Map matching As mentioned, the positioning systems used by this navigation system are susceptible to certain errors. Their calculations may , on occa- sion, place you in a location on the map where no road exists.
Conditions likely to cause noticeable positioning errors F or various reasons, such as the state of the road you are traveling on and the reception status of the GPS signal, the actual position of your vehicle may differ from the position dis- played on the map screen.
