Safety Pr ecautions Before start working with the Device, please, read this section carefully . Following these instructions will help you ensure your safety and extend service life of the Device.

CHAR GING BA TTER Y T o ext end battery lif etime, it is rec ommended to charge the Devic e for the rst time from 8 to 12 hours in the off state. Y ou can charge the battery from P C using USB-cable or from the power line using a charger ( optional).
Getting Started 14 If the Devic e is on when you c onnect the cable to P C, a di - alogue window asking to select action – PC link or Charge – will appear . Charging will start if corresponding mode is selected only . PO WER MANA GEMENT T o turn on the Devic e, press and hold On/Off butt on for a few seconds until startup logo will appear .

Getting Started 19 C ONNECTING T O INTERNET The Devic e can be connect ed to the Internet using Wi- Fi networks. If you open an application, which requires Internet ac cess (e.g. Browser , PocketNews ), the Devic e displays a list of available Wi-Fi connections.
Getting Started 20 3 . T o set up connection with a hidden network, open C onnection to a hidden network and enter its SSID from the on-screen ke yboard in the Network name (SSID) eld.

Main Menu 25 RECENT EVENTS This section displays last actions on the De vice, namely last opened and rec ently loaded books. After y ou press OK on recently opened book title, it will be opened on a page you’ve nished reading before. After pressing OK on a message about re cently added books, Library will be opened displaying added books.

Main Menu 28 NO TES In this section y ou can view notes made during reading. After sele cting a book, where y ou made a note, the book cont ents with all the notes will be displayed. Select a note, and a reader will open a book at the plac e the note was made.

Calculator Engineering calculator supports a wide range of math - ematical operations, such as different numeric systems, trigonometric, logarithm, power and logical operations.
Main Menu 30 Chess Y ou can play versus your friend or the De vice. If you are playing against the Devic e, you can select 10 difculty lev els. Use the navigation ke ys to move cursor o ver the gaming board and OK to pick and put a piece. Dictionary After your star t this application, the on-screen keyboard will appear .
Main Menu 31 Klondike Classic solitaire. Photo This section opens Library in the mode of phot o viewing (all photos must be downloaded t o the Photo folder). Y ou can look through images in JPG, BMP , PNG and TIFF formats. Snake The game. Use navigation keys to mo ve the snake and col - lect bugs.
Main Menu 32 News PocketNews is an application f or adding and reading RSS feeds. T o add RSS news fe eds, open RSS setup. Select Add RSS feed option. Enter the feed address using the on-screen ke yboard. T o delete the fe ed, select it, open the conte xt menu (by continuous OK butt on press) and select Delete command.

R eading Books In this chapter y ou will learn how to read e-books and congure reader software for the most comfortable reading. The Devic e suppor ts next book formats: PDF, EPUB (in - cluding DRM-protect ed); FB2, FB2.zip, TX T , R TF, HTML, HTM, CHM, DJVU, DOC, DOC X, T CR, PR C, MOBI, ACSM .
R eading Books 39 TURNING P A GES Use Backward/Forward or Left/Right k eys to turn pages. C ontinuous Backward/Forward keys press turns 10 pages at once.
R eading Books 40 you will reach the largest/smallest one, text will change to smallest/largest. READING MENU T o acc ess reader application menu press OK button. C ontents Opens a cont ent of the book if it is present, otherwise you get a message about missing table of c ontents.

R eading Books 43 Search Search mode works only in books containing te xt layer . T o search te xt through the book enter it using the on-scre en ke yboard. Found te xt would be highlighted, and you can switch betwe en found instances using L eft/Right naviga - tion ke ys.
R eading Books 44 size (you can adjust font size with Up/Down navigation ke ys), line spacing, page margins width or encoding (for T XT and HTML books). FB2 books has two refresh modes: Best Quality (default) or High Speed . Y ou can select left t o right (by default) or right t o left (e.

R eading Books 46 R otate Fixes the screen orientation: select the suitable one with navigation ke ys. Making Notes Y ou can enter notes mode by pressing Down button c on - tinuously or by pressing the corresponding menu option.
R eading Books 47 On the top of the display separate area will appear . Use the buttons Up , Down to choose the place where your note will begin and press OK t o set up the top margin of the note. Use navigation buttons to highlight a t ext fragment and press OK to set the bottom margin o f the note.
Settings In this chapter you will learn how congure the interface and sof tware features of the Devic e for the most comf or table usage. Select Settings Main menu se ction to congure the Device. All changes will be applied after exiting the se ction.

Settings 52 • Establishing Connection : Automatically (c onnection will be established automatically every half an hour to check for new links (if the Device is not po wered off/ not in sleeping mode)) or Manually (the c onnection is estab - lished at updating list of downloads or at choosing net - work connection).

Settings 56 P rivacy Protect Congurations by Password — in this section y ou can protect your setting by password. Sele ct Set Password section and type the password from on-scre en keyboard. Now each time you try to enter Settings section, you will be asked to ent er the password.

Firmware Update W ARNING! Firmware Update is a responsible operation, during which management software o f the Device will be changed. In case of improper e xecution control program may be damaged and will require treatment in the servic e centre. Please perform the upgrade procedure in ac cordance with the instructions below .
Firmware Update 60 If default Internet c onnection is not set, the Devic e will ask to connect t o one of available wireless networks. Also you can activat e the automatic updates che ck ( Set- tings > About Device > Software > Auto Update ).
