9 FUELING & LU BRICA TION W ARNING: Remove fuel cap slow- ly when refuel ing. FUE LING E NGINE This engine i s cer tified to oper ate on unleaded gas oline. Before operati on, gasoline m ust be mi xed w ith a good qual ity synthetic 2- cycle air- cooled engine oil designed to be mixed at a r atio of 40:1.
10 5. Push the c hoke/fast idle lever in to the HALF CHOK E position . OFF HALF CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER Choke/ fast idle lever (SIDE VIEW) FULL 6. Pull the starter rope quick ly with your right hand until the engine st arts. 7. Allow the engine to run for approximatel y 5 sec onds.

If y ou run the saw at full throttle w ithout a cutting load, unneces- sary w ear can occ ur to t he chain, bar , and engine. S T o avoid losing control when cut is com- plete, do not put pressure on saw at end of cut.
12 CUTTING A F ALLEN TREE (BUCKING) Bucking is the term used for cutting a fallen tree to the desired log siz e. W ARNING: D o not stand on the log being cut. Any porti on can roll causing l oss of footing and control. Do not stand dow nhill of the log being cut.

14 Cleaning the air filter: A dir ty ai r fi lter decreases engi ne perform- ance and i ncreases fuel consum ption and harmful emis sions. Always clean after 15 tanks of fuel or 5 hour s of operation, which- ever com es first. Cl ean more fr equently in dusty conditions.
