NOTE: T he chain is tensioned correctly when the w eight of the c hain doe s not c ause it to sa g below the guide bar ( with the c hain saw sit ting in an upright position) , but the chain still moves f reely ar ound the guide bar.

11 Braki ng funct ion cont rol CAUTION: The chain brak e must be chec ked s everal times daily. The engine must be running when performing this pr oce- dure. This is the only ins tance when the s aw should be plac ed on the ground with the en- gine running.

Remov e these bur rs with a flat file. S When rail top is unev en, use a f lat file to re- stor e square edges and sides .
16 REPLACE SP ARK PLUG The spar k plug s hould be replac ed each year to ens ure the engine starts eas ier and runs better. Ignition timing is fix ed and non- adjustable. NOTE: This s park ignition sy stem compli es with t he Canadian s tandard IC ES - - 002.

18 HE LPFUL TIP During s torage of your gas / oil mixtur e, the oil w ill sepa- rate from t he gas. We recommend that y ou shak e the gas c an weekly to insur e proper blending of the gas and oil. ENGINE S Remov e spark plug and pour 1 teas poon of 4 0: 1, 2-cycl e engine oil (air c ooled) through the s park plug opening.
